How Do You Make Homemade Bbq Sauce
My husband just happens to be a pro at throwing together the perfect barbecue sauce with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. For this particular recipe though, I started throwing ingredients in the prep bowl and then he came in and took over, lol.
I had to write down everything he did and make him measure it. . This recipe is the sauce that he came up with! Its actually a very easy BBQ sauce recipe to make. Its a little sweet, yet a little tangy and just slightly spicy. If you dont like the spice, reduce the pepper down to 1/4 teaspoon and leave out the Tabasco Sauce.
To actually make this recipe, Ill let you follow the directions toward the end. Be sure to follow them closely. If you end up leaving out the ingredients that make it spicy, dont worry. Itll still taste amazing!
How Do you Thicken Homemade BBQ Sauce?
I know, sometimes you set out to make the perfect homemade BBQ sauce and then later find that its more runny than you think its supposed to be . Theres a few ways to thicken your homemade bbq sauce. Ill list them below:
Is Bbq Sauce Vegan
The short answer is no, the BBQ sauce you get from the store isnt vegan.
Many people think that BBQ sauce is naturally vegan, but this couldnt be further from the truth! This is why I developed this easy recipe so you can enjoy it on the cheap with no animal products.
Most store bought BBQ sauces use either honey, anchovies, or both. Dont ask me why tiny fish are being used inside of a BBQ sauce but they are. Honey is obviously used for sweetening.
Some BBQ sauces contain other additives and ingredients made from ground animal bones used during processing of the additives as well. If you dont know what to look for, you may totally miss this too.
The best and safest bet is to make your own homemade BBQ sauce that is 100% vegan and super tasty!
How To Use Bbq Sauce
Use this in any recipe calling for barbecue sauce. Its delicious slathered on burgers, grilled chicken, pork, ribs, beef and used for your pulled pork.
It also makes a great dip for your sweet potato fries and chicken tenders. Alternatively you combine it with our homemade Ranch dressing for a delicious dip variation.

Does Barbecue Sauce Need To Be Refrigerated
From a food-safety standpoint, its not necessary, but to help maintain the quality, its best to keep it cold. According to foodsafety.gov, Refrigeration ensures that commercial sauces and condiments stay fresh for a longer period of time. Shelf-stable commercial barbecue sauce is safe when stored at room temperature after opening. Quality, not safety, is the reason the labels on these products suggest that they be refrigerated after opening.

Hot And Spicy Bbq Sauce
You know what they say. Play with fire and you’ll get burned. This sauce can be made hot. Real hot! Be careful. And, remember, if you want it hotter just add some habanero pepper strips! Meatloaf Is An Old School Classic This Foolproof Recipe Proves It Deserves A Comeback
Hearty, comforting, easy and affordable? There arent many dishes that check all those boxes the way meatloaf can, which is what makes it a classic.
Do an internet search for meatloaf and youll find tweaks to the time-honored dish, but no drastic recipe revisions. The basic components remain the same: beef, aromatics and fillers. Herbs and spices are adjusted, binders are amended and the glaze is personalized, but once everyone sits down for dinner, its still thick slices of juicy beef. And thats a good thing.

I cook my pork looooow and slooooow for the best pulled pork.
Trying to rush this cut of meat just isnt good to me. I normally cook my pork roast in my slow cooker for 8-10 hours on Low setting for the best pulled pork.
Then, Ill leave it set to Warm with the liquid that cooked off while it cooked still in the slow cooker and let it steam in the slow cooker for another 4 hours or so. The resulting pulled pork will absolutely melt in your mouth!
The pork is done when the internal temperature reaches 190º 205º F. Once done, remove from slow cooker and let rest for 5-10 minutes. Then shred and serve.

Kansas City Style Bbq Sauce
Many of the great bbq chefs have their roots in Kansas City Missouri. The sauces are thick and sticky and when combined with the smoke of a great hardwood , the results are magical. If you’re barbecuing with charcoal, there is an optional smoke ingredient, but my recommendation is to forego the added smoke flavor and go with smoking chips or better yet, small oak logs for a true Kansas City style BBQ.
