Raos Made For Home Meat Lasagna

Raos Made For Home Meat Lasagna.

Real short tale

Yesterday- tried 2- 9oz packages of frozen Raos Made For Home Meat Lasagna from The Fresh Market, 5540 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida 33496, 994-2221 on-sale for $3.99 . Oven baked one, microwaved the other and all I can say, LOUSY!- the meat lasagna had absolutely no taste whatsoever! Trust me on this one, my tastebuds were/are just fine and the pasta/meat/sauce/cheese combination literally had no taste- not to mention that the pasta had the consistency of a big old rubber band!

The Meatball Shop Classic Tomato Sauce

Ingredients: Imported Italian Whole Peeled Tomatoes, Fresh Onions, Olive Oil, Salt, Fresh Garlic, Oregano, Chili Flakes, Bay Leaves

Appearance & Consistency: Though this sauce did have some oil separation, a quick stir lent it the velvetiness I’d hoped for. Given the fact that I spotted a few minced garlic cloves floating around, I expected this to taste a lot like the allium.

Taste: Imagine you had the time to simmer fresh tomatoes and smoky spices on the stovetop. What a fantastic visualization, right?! Well, The Meatball Shop Classic Tomato Sauce will bless your plate of penne with homemade results sans kitchen time.

    Eat This, Not That! Verdict:

If you’re ever fortunate enough to walk into one of the swanky New York-based locations of The Meatball Shop, you’ll realize how this sauce smells just like it. The topper was tangy and umami-rich, but surprisingly not spicy at all despite its inclusion of chili flakes. This sauce wasn’t too robust or complex, rendering it perfect for meatballs or ragù.

  • Next, top with 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture and 1 cup meat sauce. Repeat the layers twice.
  • End the layering with the remaining noodles, meat sauce and cheeses.
  • Cover with foil that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until heated through, removing foil after 45 minutes. Let lasagna stand at least 15 minutes before cutting to serve. This sitting time will keep the lasagna from being too watery and will help it keep its shape when cut. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes for a cleaner slice.

Jeff,As Im sure you know, Raos is one of the most famous italian restaurants in America. Located in Harlem, it is literally impossible to get a reservation to eat there.

In addition to the restaurant the company has a full line of sauces etc for sale online as well as in retail store outlets.

Ive eaten in the physical store twice and the food is just average at best. I really cant explain its allure but what is, is.

Ive tried a handful of its frozen dishes including the lasagna you had and they werent very good.
