During both incidents, the grocery stores had to halt at least part of their operations, according to police and court records.
On the day of the Chick-fil-A sauce upset, the entire Dillons at 31st South and Seneca was on lockdown for more than two hours, records say.
An affidavit released Monday by a Sedgwick County District Court judge says James A. Hirsh acted out on Jan. 8 and claimed he was infected with COVID-19 because he “was upset” that pharmacy staff at the 47th South and Broadway grocery store couldn’t find his Medicaid records while their computer system was down.
One person who was reportedly sprayed with Hirsh’s spittle as the 37-year-old yelled during his fit “went to get a Covid shot … as a precaution” after the incident, the affidavit says.
The Dillons store also took steps to mitigate employee and customer risk after Hirsh’s announcement, including disinfecting the pharmacy area and everything else that Hirsh touched, according to the document.
Store video footage shows Hirsh pulling in front of the store, 4747 S. Broadway, during the late afternoon on Jan. 8, and entering the pharmacy area. Once inside, he “is seen licking his hand then pushing away the plastic barrier and rubbing his hand on a computer monitor” before “confronting pharmacy staff” and “licking his other hand and rubbing it on a computer keyboard,” the affidavit says.
He even threatened to shoot the store manager, the affidavit says one witness told police.

As the prolific rapper Gucci Mane once said, If a man does not have sauce, then he is lost. But the same man can get lost in the sauce. This tidbit couldnt be more relevant now that Chick-fil-A is bottling their sauce.
Starting in April, youll be able to find 16-fluid oz. bottles of Chick-fil-As Polynesian and Chick-fil-A sauces at Florida Publix, Target, Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores.
According to Chick-fil-As website, the bottles will start at $3.49.
Alternatively, 8-fluid oz. bottles of Chick-fil-A, Polynesian, barbeque, honey mustard and garden herb ranch sauces will be available for purchase at participating stores beginning mid-March. The smaller bottles will also be included with catered Chick-fil-A orders.
Unfortunately, fans of the Sweet & Spicy Sriracha and Zesty Buffalo sauces will have to continue hoarding individual packets.
All proceeds that the fast food chain makes on the retail bottles will go to Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship Initiative. The scholarship plans to donate $17 million to 6,700 employees for college.
Chick-fil-A said it will consider nationwide sale of the sauce bottles if the Floridian pilot sales go well.

Lancaster Locks Up Winning Formula With Chick
WESTERVILLE, OHIO Sauce and dressing licensing programs have been a winning formula for Lancaster Colony Corp. over the past couple years. Now, the companys partnership with Chick-fil-A stands to take Lancaster to the next level.
Chick-fil-A sauces alone accounted for about 8 percentage points of growth in Lancasters Retail segment during the third quarter.
Our regional rollout of Chick-fil-A sauces into the retail channel continued as planned during the quarter as we further expanded distribution into the Southeastern and South Central United States, adding 11 more states from Texas to the Mid-Atlantic, David A. Ciesinski, president and chief executive officer, said during a May 4 conference call with analysts.
Asked what the move from regional to national distribution on Chick-fil-A sauces could mean in terms of incremental revenue growth in the upcoming fourth quarter, Mr. Ciesinski said a lot is going to depend on the timing of how fast the product gets on the shelf.
What Mr. Ciesinski did say, though, is that Lancaster expects the Chick-fil-A sauce line to continue to grow and for the growth to be robust.
In the three months ended March 31, Lancaster Colony net income was $28.9 million, equal to $1.05 per share on the common stock, up 29% from $22.43 million, or 82¢ per share, in the third quarter last year. Net sales were $357.25 million, up 11% from $321.36 million.

Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce is as close to the real thing as you can get, you wont even be able to tell the difference. It takes very little effort and only a few ingredients making it a super simple recipe.
A creamy sauce packed with tons of flavor that tastes amazing slathered over a chicken sandwich. It also makes a great dipping sauce for chicken nuggets, fries, onion rings and even cold veggies.
Im not a big fan of fast food restaurants, however Chick-Fil-A is a different story. Their chicken sandwiches are absolutely amazing and that Chick-Fil-A sauce is so good, you could almost drink it, not really, but it is really good!

Chick-fil-A will be rolling out their new sauces in mid-November, but only for a few retailers in a few states. Those lucky retailers are Publix, Kroger, Walmart and Winn-Dixie, and the lucky states that get the first taste are Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi. Everyone else will have to wait a while to depend on the drive-thru to get their Chick-fil-A sauce fix.
But theres a silver lining in this gray cloud: the sauces will be rolling out nationwide at a plethora of unnamed retailers in early 2021, so you wont have to wait too long to taste all this goodness at home.
