State Representatives Blaine Wilhour on Tuesday toured the Country Bobs, Inc. sauce facility in Centralia. Most of the employees currently working at the facility are from the Salem and Centralia area and is an example of a local, family-owned business that is thriving and actually grew in sales over the past year.

This company is truly an American success story that we all should be proud of, stated Rep. Blaine Wilhour, a small business owner himself. They not only provide jobs to the local economy, but they source their materials and ingredients locally here in the Midwest which provides more jobs for those communities.

As their online history tells it, Country Bob Edson was born to barbecue. In 1968, he turned his hobby into a passion and hundreds of batches of sauce later, an all-purpose sauce he could put his name on. Bob gave it to friends and families in the beginning and because their reaction was so overwhelming, he started his entrepreneurship in earnest in 1977 and in October of 1982, Country Bob, Inc. was formed when Bob Edson turned to his banker and good friend, Al Malekovic, to help him get started.

The Country Bobs line now includes BBQ Sauce, Seasoning Salt, Apple Chipotle and Honey Habanero All Purpose sauce plus the newest member to the family of flavor: Country Bobs Marinade.

I got a new grill from Walmart and I LOVE IT! The pan sets over two stove burners so I can easily make 8 pancakes or lots of meat . The best part is that it was only $20 and washes up easily in the dishwasher!! You see, anything I grill tastes like lighter fluid so to be able to cook on my stove and have those beautiful grill lines its a miracle! I wanted to cook some chicken and steaks so I went to go look at the marinades and saw Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce, I looked on the back and sure enough there was a marinade recipe! Weve never tried Country Bobs before and honestly it isnt something I would use often but it was nice for a change, its like a mix of A1 and BBQ sauce. So yeah, the grill pan ended up being a better find than this marinade, but thats ok not every recipe is a winner.Ingredients13 ounce bottle of Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce3 cloves of garlic, mincedSalt and PepperDirectionsPlace your meat , garlic, salt, pepper, and Country Bobs sauce in an airtight container or bag and marinade for 6 hours or overnight. We had invited some friends over who also brought their twin four-year-olds. After we set down at the table, everyone marveled at the unique flavor of the chicken. Again, I think everyone expected this to be just another barbecue sauce, but Country Bobs has its own distinct taste. One of children who is sometimes finicky with new foods, quickly said More sauce! Over the weekend we had the pleasure of testing out a sauce weve walked by many times in the grocery store, without even knowing it was there. Although we make most of our sauces at home, there are some times you just want to grab a bottle from the fridge, in this case, its a sauce thats tasty on just about everything!

Weve always been fascinated by everything sauces. Sure, some seem to lend their taste to different things , but most are pretty specific to the meal at hand.

Steak Sauce Flavor Variations

This sauce is delicious as-is, but you can add other ingredients to customize it to your tastes.
