This sauce is delicious as-is, but you can add other ingredients to customize it to your tastes.

• Garlic Lovers: Add 2 teaspoons of sauteed garlic instead of the garlic powder listed in the recipe.
• Sweet and Savory: Increase the amount of honey to 1 1/2 tablespoons.

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of testing out a sauce weve walked by many times in the grocery store, without even knowing it was there. Although we make most of our sauces at home, there are some times you just want to grab a bottle from the fridge, in this case, its a sauce thats tasty on just about everything!

Weve always been fascinated by everything sauces. Sure, some seem to lend their taste to different things , but most are pretty specific to the meal at hand.

This past weekend was a beautiful one here in Kansas City and we had the chance to grill, smoke and cook out for almost every meal. We grabbed a bottle of Country Bobs and sauced up most of our creations with fabulous results. We tested it out on chicken, beef, pork, even some grilled veggies!

Even though the sauce can be applied to more than one type of meat or vegetable, it doesnt taste the same on every one. Sounds weird right? Country Bobs sauce is a great base for letting the natural taste of your food shine through while kicking it up a notch. If we had to describe it, wed have to say its something like Brown Sauce, but with less tang. It has more spice than ketchup, but less than a traditional BBQ sauce.

I got a new grill from Walmart and I LOVE IT! The pan sets over two stove burners so I can easily make 8 pancakes or lots of meat . The best part is that it was only $20 and washes up easily in the dishwasher!! You see, anything I grill tastes like lighter fluid so to be able to cook on my stove and have those beautiful grill lines… it’s a miracle! I wanted to cook some chicken and steaks so I went to go look at the marinades and saw Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce, I looked on the back and sure enough there was a marinade recipe! We’ve never tried Country Bob’s before and honestly it isn’t something I would use often but it was nice for a change, it’s like a mix of A1 and BBQ sauce. As I opened the bottle, I caught a whiff of the sweet smell of molasses. I had not expected that. I put just a drop of the sauce on my finger and tasted it, and WOW, I knew we were in for something incredible. This was definitely not like any steak sauce, barbecue sauce, or marinade Id tried before. In fact, Country Bobs All Purpose Sauce is literally in a category all by itself. The first thing I did was to heat Country Bobs sauce in a Lodge cast iron melting pot on top of my cast iron Sportsman’s Grill. I wanted to apply the sauce while hot to the chicken breasts to immediately shock the outer layer and seal in the natural juices.

We had invited some friends over who also brought their twin four-year-olds. After we set down at the table, everyone marveled at the unique flavor of the chicken.
