How To Make Chicken Alfredo

Gather all the ingredients ready to start preparing the food.

Start with boneless, skinless chicken breasts.

Place them in between two sheets of plastic wrap, on a cutting board, and pound them thin.

This makes this cook quicker and also helps tenderize them.

Season each chicken breast with salt, pepper, garlic powder and poultry seasoning.

Melt some butter in a skillet to brown the chicken in.

Place the chicken in the skillet, seasoned side down, over a medium/high heat.

Sprinkle the other side with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning to your taste preferences.

Cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes until browned on one side, then flip it over and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is browned, and the breast is cooked through.

Depending on the size of your skillet, you may be able to cook all of the chicken in one batch.

If not, remove the cooked chicken to a cutting board, and repeat the above steps with the second batch of chicken, and so on, until its all cooked.

Once the chicken has cooked, place it on a cutting board, use a sharp chefs knife to dice it into bite sized pieces.

Add all of the chicken back into the skillet once its diced, and pour in your jar of Ragu Classic Alfredo Sauce.

Place a lid on your skillet, and let it simmer about 20 minutes on medium/low heat.

Remove the lid, and give it a good stir.

Mix it up, and let it simmer together for another 5 minutes.

What Can I Add To Ragu Alfredo Sauce

To the jar add at least 3 additions to the store bought sauce to give it a fresher taste. I like to add 1 tablespoon real butter, 1/3 cup cream, 2 t fresh, minced garlic, 1/4 c fresh grated Parmesan, 1/2 c steamed fresh broccoli, a sprinkle of garlic salt, fresh black pepper, and a little bit of fresh or dried basil.

What Do I Serve The Alfredo With

While alfredo is typically served with fettuccine noodles, theyre not my fave anyway so I use any other noodle. Spaghetti, penne, rotini, or any other shaped pasta that you can find gluten free will work just fine.

A couple years ago I started making Blackened Chicken Alfredo and its become a real family favorite. Using store-bought blackening seasoning, coat boneless, skinless chicken breasts and saute them for about 15-20 minutes in a little butter and/or olive oil. Slice them into thin strips and add them to a plate of alfredo pasta. You can also add sauteed broccoli and/or spinach.

If youve ever been to the Rainforest Cafe, they have this wonderful dish called Rasta Pasta. Its loaded with chicken strips, broccoli, red peppers, and spinach. The sauce is a mixture of basil pesto and alfredo sauce. If youve never tried this combo, youre in for a treat because its incredible!! Just add equal parts basil pesto and this alfredo sauce to hot pasta, toss, and serve with veggies and meat .

But pasta isnt the only thing you can serve this alfredo with! Remember those Olive Garden Style Breadsticks I made a few months back??? My absolute favorite thing to do with alfredo sauce is dip breadsticks in it!! It is SO GOOD!!!

Pregos Hidden Super Veggies Traditional has our name all over it. We love the variety included in the Hidden Veggies line from Prego. Per Pregos website, this sauce contains tomatoes and a puree of sweet potato, carrot, cauliflower, butternut squash, spinach, and roasted red pepper. Its wonderful that each serving contains extra veggies that we otherwise would not have eaten. If we can get healthy by chowing down on pasta, we are all for it.

According to reviews on Walmart, this sauce has a great thick texture and is not runny like some other brands. Some customers note how awesome it is to serve their kids this sauce and not have their children detect the hidden vegetables. My parmesan roasted garlic cream sauce is a savory white sauce filled with mildly sweet roasted garlic cloves, a sprinkle of an array of dried Italian herbs, a kiss of lemon, and, of course, a generous shake of grated parmesan cheese.

There are only 4 ingredients in this gluten free alfredo, as well as a few spices.

  • Butter a perfect beginning to anything.
