A Lighter Creamy Alfredo Sauce

4 Ingredient Alfredo Sauce | Easier than OPENING a Jar of Marinara!

One of the best things about this recipe is it uses New Bertolli Creamy Alfredo with Cauliflower & Milk. Its a combination of cauliflower, fresh milk, and aged parmesan for a lighter take on classic Alfredo sauce. Its a delicious sauce that you would expect from Bertolli but with half the fat and calories.

My family loved the taste and flavor of Bertolli Creamy Alfredo with Cauliflower & Milk. In fact, they didnt even realize it was made with cauliflower. It is a creamy alfredo sauce that you would expect from a brand like Bertolli.

Can I Use Milk Instead Of Heavy Cream In The Alfredo Sauce

A traditional Alfredo has butter, cream and cheese. If you are simply out of heavy cream, or want to cut back the calories and use milk instead, youll need to make a roux based bechamel sauce and add Parmesan cheese to it. You can see instructions for this lighter sauce in my Chicken Alfredo Baked Ziti recipe.

Victoria Vegan Alfredo Sauce

Victoria Alfredo isnt the most classic of all jarred options, the addition of roasted garlic gives it a flavor profile that the other standard Alfredo sauces didnt have and the cashew cream definitely changed up the texture . And for that, we loved how much it stood out. If youre looking to shake things up, we suggest filling your cart with this sauce.

Change How You Cook The Sauce

How to Make Chicken Alfredo Using Jarred Alfredo Sauce ...

Sometimes, the way that you heat your Alfredo sauce could be impacting your enjoyment of the final dish.

If you have been heating the Alfredo sauce separately and then pouring it on top of the pasta, this could be making the jarred sauce taste worse. It unevenly distributes the sauce, making some pasta dry, and makes the sometimes cloying taste of jarred sauce very obvious.

Instead, mix the pasta directly into the sauce. Cook it until it is barely al dente, then finish cooking the noodles right in the sauce.

This way, the pasta absorbs the sauce better than it would if you just poured it over the bowl once everything is cooked. It also creates a more cohesive dish.

How To Serve Alfredo Sauce

My husband and I like fettuccini Alfredo. Since I have a gluten sensitivity, I get fettuccini pasta thats gluten-free.

You can serve this however you like, but Ive found this to be the best way to serve this easy recipe.

After cooking the pasta and putting it on the plate or in the bowl, I scoop some pasta sauce over it.

Then I top it with parmesan or a blend of parmesan and Romano.

Or, if you prefer, you can mix the pasta into the Alfredo sauce. For a baked dish, mix all of it and put it in a greased baking dish.

Top it with mozzarella cheese and pop it into a 350 oven. Bake it until the cheese on top melts and then serve it hot.

Its always good to enjoy any pasta dish with a side salad or steamed vegetable. My husband also enjoys a slice of crusty Italian bread with butter.

How To Reheat Shrimp Alfredo

If you happen to have any leftover Instant Pot Shrimp Alfredo, there are a number of different ways you can reheat without the pasta turning out overcooked or mushy. Here are three simple methods:

USE BOILING WATER

If you choose this method to reheat your pasta, you will only want to do so with plain pasta without sauce.

To reheat using boiling water, fill a large pot with water and place over medium heat on the stove top. After the water comes to a boil, add the leftover pasta in a colander and lower it into the boiling water.

Allow the pasta to warm in the water for 30 to 60 seconds then carefully remove. Toss your cooked pasta with our favorite pasta sauce and youre good to go.

REHEAT IN THE OVEN

Add your leftover shrimp alfredo pasta and sauce in an oven-safe baking dish and cover with foil. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and place your dish with pasta in the oven. Reheat for 20 minutes or until your pasta has reached your desired temperature. If for any reason you feel your pasta has dried, be sure to add a little extra pasta sauce and/or olive oil and mix well.

Once your pasta is properly reheated, remove from oven and serve! Top with some parmesan cheese, too!

REHEAT IN THE MICORWAVE

If for any reason you want to add more sauce, add a splash of water or chicken stock when heating.

Change How You Use Jarred Sauce

Simple Chicken Alfredo Recipe

Jarred Alfredo sauce can add an extra dimension of flavor to many dishes, not just pasta. Here are a few serving suggestions that could make dinner a bit more exciting.

Alfredo Sauce on Pizza: Dont have tomato sauce at home but still want pizza? Top the dough with alfredo sauce, cheese, and other toppings of your choice such as chicken for a white pie. This is perfect for picky eaters who refuse tomatoes.

Add it to Casseroles: Many casseroles use canned soup such as cream of mushroom. You can replace that with Alfredo sauce for a cheesy, creamy dish.

Use it When Cooking Proteins: Skip the pasta altogether and use jarred Alfredo to create a creamy sauce for your protein of choice. Chicken tetrazzini is one popular dish that can become even tastier with Alfredo sauce.

Make Lasagna: Instead of coating short pasta in Alfredo sauce, use it in place of bechamel in a lasagna. This will make it possible to enjoy this family favorite even on weekdays.

How Much Does A Pound Of Pasta Serve

One pound of dried pasta serves 8-12 servings. Adult servings is about 2 cups of cooked pasta and children servings can be as little as 1/2 cup -1 cup of cooked pasta depending on the child. Creamy sauces and additional toppings can also be very filling so you may even be able to stretch out the servings even more.

Add Something Other Than Pasta

You dont have to rely on your jarred Alfredo sauce alone to give your dish some flavor. Add some extra ingredients to your pasta to pump up the dish and mask the artificial taste of jarred sauce.

Try adding some protein to your Alfredo pasta dishes, such as shrimp or chicken. Not only will this make the meal healthier and more filling, but it will also thicken out the sauce and add robust flavors.

If you want to make the dish healthy, add some vegetables, such as steamed broccoli. Jarred Alfredo sauce is delicious but it is often very heavy and fatty, so vegetables can cut through that thick feeling.

Directions For How To Make Jar Alfredo Sauce Better

shrimp alfredo using jar sauce

Im sure there are plenty of ways to do this, but Ive found this to be the easiest way.

Feel free to switch out the ingredients to ones you prefer.

I believe that the best flavors are the ones you and your family like.

I also highly recommend choosing just a few of the above ingredients to test the first few times.

Pour the jar of Alfredo sauce into a medium saucepan and turn the burner to medium-high heat.

As soon as you see a couple of bubbles, turn it down to medium-low heat.

Now start adding the ingredients you like.

I highly recommend sautéing the onions if you choose chopped onions as one of the ingredients because that brings out the flavor.

I used all dried seasonings because thats what I had. But if you have access to fresh ingredients, I highly recommend using those.

My pepper mill is still packed , so I used already ground pepper.

Fresh ground pepper is much better. Or you can use white pepper.

I added chopped chicken that I cooked earlier to make chicken Alfredo.

If you dont have fresh cooked chicken, you can use the canned version.

After its added to the cream sauce with the other ingredients, you probably wont be able to tell the difference.

When Im in the mood for seafood, I might use either shrimp or scallops instead of chicken. Both are good. Try using a variety of different proteins to see which ones you like.

As you add ingredients, you may want to turn the burner up to medium heat to keep the sauce hot.

Where Does Pasta Alfredo Come From

Mince The Garlic And Chop The Parsley For This 20

Chicken Alfredo w/ Penne Pasta

Before you heat up your pan, be sure your garlic and Italian parsley are prepared. For this 20-minute shrimp Alfredo recipe, the parsley is being used as much more than just a garnish. Although, youll certainly reserve some for the final touch. Italian parsley offers a fresh flavor to round out the heavy, creaminess of the Alfredo sauce.

Italian parsley is the parsley option in the produce section with flat leaves. The curled leaf option doesnt actually impart much flavor, and its certainly used more often as just a garnish. The curled leaf parsley may also have a tough texture to it. If you cant find Italian parsley, you can consider swapping it out for the curled leaf version, or omit it altogether based on your preference.

To prepare the parsley, wash it, dry it, and then remove the leaves from the stem. Gather the leaves on your cutting board, and then finely chop the parsley to be utilized for this recipe. To prep the garlic for this recipe, peel the skin off of the three cloves. Use the side of a large chefs knife to crush the cloves, and then mince it up.
