S& b Golden Curry Braised Beef
Sharing is caring!
Ive been eating S& B Golden Curry Braised Beef ever since I can remember. I think ever since Mom found this paste in the grocery. If you havent tried the S& B Golden Curry Sauce Mix, you really should. If youre needing a curry fix, this stuff will easily hit the spot.
Okay. Let me just preface this. I have not ever made authentic curry. Maybe at some point, but its not really on my list of things to do. I know K will chime in. Shes made authentic curry. Shes married to an India dude. Its almost a requirement for her. But for me? Its a bunch of ingredients that I will probably only use for that one dish and you cant buy single servings of some of that stuff. I think I was sucked into buying a large bag of fenugreek seeds. Granted Ive used them twicein the 4 years Ive had the bag. I keep them in the freezer.
Now, garam masala and curry powder? Those are on my list of things to make. I want to make a blend that I like and has the flavors I enjoy most out of curries and masalas. But thats in a much larger kitchen where I can see all the herbs and spices I have and theyre not packed away in either a freezer or pantry in a bag and I seriously have no idea which ones I have and what I would need. And yes, that was a rather long run on sentence. Deal. *snort*
Katsu Curry With S& b Golden Curry Sauce Mix
Rich aromatic curry that could only be made in Japan
The combination of silky, aromatic sauce and the crunch of breaded meat is what makes katsu curry such a long-standing favourite among home-cooked dishes in Japan. Curry sauce was first introduced from India via Europe, but it was the invention of curry roux that made it possible for the average household cook to make curry, leading the Japanese to truly embrace the dish. S& B was at the forefront of the curry roux revolution, leading the way with its Golden Curry Sauce Mix, which then, as today, is made proudly in Japan. S& BCurry Sauce Mix has a transformative effect on dishes, imparting the rich aroma of the careful blend of spices and herbs in S& B original curry powder.

How Is Japanese Curry Different From Indian Curry
The main difference between Japanese curry powder and Indian curry powder is the level of spiciness. When curry powder was first imported into Japan, they altered it to their taste, making it sweeter and less spicy. In fact, if you ever purchase hot curry roux, youll find its actually still quite mild.

Beef Curry Using S& b Golden Curry Mix
Curry is one of the dishes that I didnt grow up eating. It was never cooked at home simply because my parents hated it. They didnt like how it smells and how it tastes.
But even though I didnt grow up eating this dish, I fell in love with it the first time I tasted it. Yup, it was love at first taste..LOLz!
There are many kinds of curries. The most common and the one I use frequently is the yellow curry powder, I think thats Indian curry. I have also tried green curry but only in restaurants.
Ive been seeing this S& B Golden Curry everywhere mostly in Japanese Grocery Stores but it is also available in the local groceries. My tastebuds became curious. how does japanese curry taste?

S& B Golden Curry is a traditional Japanese curry sauce mix with the best blend of herbs and spices. You wont find a single word written in english on the box. I got the recipe from the staff at Hatchin.
And so, after six months of being curious, I finally gave in and bought a box. It is available in different level of spicyness. I chose the least spicy.
The verdict? Curiosity makes the tummy full
I didnt do what the recipe said, though. It was too strong for me. It felt like I was eating an armpit.. LOlz..
The recipe said use that block of curry up there which was divided into four. I only used a quarter of that curry mix.

There are so many things you can do to improve this in no particular order: Use chicken thighs instead of breasts for more flavour. Use ghee or butter to make the dish fuller in flavour.
