When your kitchen is awash in the scent of garlic, go ahead and pour the broth into the skillet and use it to deglaze the pan, scraping any brown bits off the surface with a spatula. Then, add the heavy cream and shredded Parmesan, stirring the mixture until the cheese melts and the sauce starts to thicken. This should take about four to five minutes. Ingredients To Make Jar Alfredo Sauce Better

My simple recipe only needs a few extra ingredients for the best results. However, you need to please your taste buds, so try different things.

I typically add 5-6 extra ingredients, but you might like more or less. Its all up to you to make it your own sauce with the same or different ingredients.

Here are some things you can add to your own Alfredo sauce to make it delicious:

    • Garlic in any form
    • Parmesan cheese
    • Any type of fresh herbs

I also like to add some protein, and I prefer chicken, either chopped or shredded. Or if you prefer seafood, fish and shrimp are good too.

If you want to add color to your Alfredo sauce, top it with chives, parsley flakes, or pieces of red bell pepper.

I do this because I think that when food looks good it also tastes better.

How Do You Know If The Shrimp Is Cooked

    Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

Raw shrimp has a grayish-white color and it looks a bit translucent. As it cooks, it turns whitish-pink and becomes opaque. This only takes about 2 minutes per side.

Another sign of perfectly cooked shrimp is that the shrimp curls up slightly resembling the letter C. Overcooked, chewy and rubbery shrimp curls up into an O shape.

Yes, this sauce can be frozen for up to 6 months if properly stored in an airtight container or freezer bag. To reheat, thaw in the fridge overnight, then place the sauce in a saucepan on the stove over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until heated through to avoid breaking the sauce . I recommend cooking the pasta from scratch though, it can get mushy if frozen in the sauce.

Freeze cook shrimp separately in a sealed freezer bag for up to 4 months. I definitely recommend cooking shrimp fresh it doesnt take much longer than reheating from frozen, and the taste is so much better.

Provided by My Food and Family

    1 box whole grain fettuccini
8 oz bag frozen broccoli florets

    3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
    2 teaspoon s garlic powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Kraft Grated Parmesan Cheese plus extra for garnish

How To Make This Cajun Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

    Ingredients Youll Need

    • Shrimp I use medium shrimp thats already been peeled and with the tails removed, its just way less work this way!
    • Cajun seasoning
    • Butter I tend to mostly use unsalted butter because we are also adding salt to this recipe. But if you use salted butter, then be sure to taste before adding more salt.
    • Olive oil Extra virgin olive oil is the way to go in most recipes, any name-brand is great!
    • Minced garlic I use minced garlic from a jar but you can mince your own.
    • Flour Any all-purpose flour, any brand, will work great in this Cajun shrimp fettuccine alfredo recipe.
    • Milk Any milk is fine here. The more fat content the milk has though, the thicker and creamier your sauce will be.
    • Fettuccine noodles Any name-brand fettuccine noodles are fine here. You can actually sub spaghetti or any other long noodle too for that matter.
    • Reserved pasta water The reserved pasta water is key to making a creamy, carby sauce. Be sure to save some after you drain the pasta.
    • Parmesan cheese Freshly grated parmesan works best here. Store-bought, pre-shredded has an anti-caking agent added to it to keep it from sticking which makes it harder to melt and cream together. However, you can use whatever parmesan you like, just know it might not completely melt smoothly.
    • Salt Any fine-grain salt will work.
    • Parsley Chopped fresh parsley makes the best garnish, but you can use dried or skip it all together.
