Ontario Woman Finds Snake In Can Of Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce

Its the busiest time of the year for cranberry sauce purchases, but one woman from Saint Catharines, Ontario found more than she bargained for when she opened up a can.

Aimee Viola D Rolla opened a can of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce over the Thanksgiving weekend and was greeted by a small, dark-coloured snake mixed in with the berries. A few days later, she posted images of the reptile on her Facebook page:

The images have since been shared over 4,500 times on the social network.

Rolla says she sent the snake to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for analysis and she has received only $10 in coupons from Ocean Spray. After first notifying the company on Facebook, Ocean Spray responded with a canned message sent to numerous other customers on their page:

Cranberry Horseradish Bacon Dip:

• 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
• 1/3 cup Stonewall Kitchen Cranberry Horseradish Sauce
• 1/4 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
• 3 Tablespoons scallions, chopped

Combine all ingredients and mix until uniform. Serve with crackers, pretzels or baguette slices.
