  • 180 g shrimp, peeled & deveined*
  • 250 g assorted mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Classico Roasted Garlic Alfredo Pasta Sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced

Didnt think creamy, alfredo pasta could ever fit into your macros? Think again. Classicos Roasted Garlic Alfredo sauce is surprisingly macro friendly, and with some fresh shrimp, mushrooms and a kick of cayenne, youll have a rich pasta dinner whipped up in no time.

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • While the water comes to a boil, melt the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic to the pan and toss to combine.
  • Once the pasta water comes to a boil, throw in a few pinches of salt and add the pasta. Cook the pasta according to package directions.
  • While the pasta is boiling, add the shrimp to the mushrooms and saute until the shrimp begins to curl and turn pink. Add the alfredo sauce and bring the mixture to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper as desired.
  • When the pasta is cooked, drain the water and add the pasta to the sauce. Toss to combine and garnish with chopped chives.

    If you prefer a thinner Alfredo sauce, there are some easy ways to thin it out. A lot depends on how creamy you want it.

    Here are some ways you can thin out Alfredo sauce:

    • Add milk. I recommend doing this very slowly, just a couple of tablespoons at a time.
    • Use some of the pasta water from the noodles. The starch from the pasta will help keep some of the body and prevent it from being too watery.
    • Add chicken broth, beef stock, or vegetable broth. Again, I recommend adding just a little at a time, until you get the consistency you want.
    • You can also add water, but that waters down some of the flavor. You might need to add more seasonings if you choose water.

    1- Cook pasta according to the directions written on the package.

    While the pasta is cooking, heat the skillet on medium-high heat. Add olive oil. Then sauté the minced garlic for about one minute.

    2- Next, add the chicken breast. Cook until the meat is done and there is no more water.

    3- Now, add pour in the Alfredo sauce, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Then season with black pepper and let simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.

    4- Lastly, add cooked pasta, mix well and remove from the stove. Garnish with chopped fresh Italian parsley and more shredded parmesan cheese.

Youll see some national brands, such as Bertolli Alfredo sauce, Raos homemade Alfredo sauce, Classico Alfredo sauce, Ragu Alfredo sauce, and generic store brands of Alfredo sauce. Ive found that these are all Alfredo sauces of good quality.

    • Heat a large saucepan over high heat until very hot. Add just enough cold water to cover the bottom of the pan. Let the water evaporate but make sure there are a few drops left in the pan.     • On Medium-High heat, warm up olive oil in skillet. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Cook 8-10 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
