This One Pan Creamy Chicken Alfredo is a sanity saver on a busy night. By using prepared sauce and rotisserie chicken youll have a yummy dinner in a snap.

Our family doesnt dine at nice sit down restaurants very often. With small children it becomes more of a challenge than a pleasure at times. Not to say I wouldnt enjoy a nice dinner out from time to time, but we often opt for kid-friendly restaurants where the kids are happier.

To make up for those dinners which dont necessarily WOW mom and dad I try to prepare restaurant quality dishes at home from time to time. One such dish is this One Pan Creamy Chicken Alfredo. This dish is roughly based off of a meal I had years ago at a fancy country club, and the price was fairly fancy too. I wanted to replicate the dish at home, it had a sauce that clung to the noodles, a really rich tasting sauce that satisfies your palate. What I didnt expect to discover was a time-saving recipe thats basically so simple that I can prepare it any night of the week.

How To Make Chicken Alfredo

This is probably one of the easiest pasta dishes with meat sauce that you can make. It consists of three small procedures. First is the preparation of the pasta. The second is cooking the chicken breast. The last is completing the Alfredo sauce.

I always refer to the package instructions when cooking any pasta. This gives me an idea about the duration of cooking. Simple follow the instructions when cooking any pasta. Drain the water afterwards. I also drizzle olive oil to the fettuccine after discarding the water to prevent it from sticking to each other.

Cooking the chicken is as simple as seasoning and pan-frying it. Well, those are the actual steps that we are doing. Season chicken with salt and pepper on both sides. Melt a few tablespoons of butter in a pan and then pour olive oil. The oil will help prevent the butter from burning quickly. Pan-fry chicken breasts for 3 minutes per side.

The cooked chicken needs to rest for a few minutes. Slice it into serving pieces once the chicken cools down. Put it on the side for now while we do the next procedure.

The last step once all procedures are done is to add the cooked fettuccine into the pan. Toss until fully coated with sauce. Sprinkle parsley on top.

How To Make This Chicken Alfredo Recipe With Jar Sauce

  • Brown Chicken Add olive oil to instant pot. Turn instant pot on to saute function. Season chicken with pepper, then place chicken in pan when the oil is hot. Brown chicken on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from Instant Pot and set aside until later.
  • Mix Ingredients Add water to garlic to pot and cook for about 1 minute. Add water and deglaze the bottom of the pot, scraping off any browned bits from the bottom of the pot to avoid the burn message. Add chicken breast back to pot. Then the fettuccine noodles broken in thirds. Then pour Alfredo sauce and water over the top. Try to make sure the noodles are covered.
  • Cook Place lid on Instant Pot making sure valve is turned to the sealed position. Then turn to high pressure for 8 minutes and let cook.
  • Release Pressure When done cooking quick release pressure . Let sit 5-10 minutes for sauce to thicken. Remove chicken during this time and slice. Add back in and stir. Serve.

    Easy Crock Pot Chicken Alfredo With Jar Sauce:

  • Use the oil to grease the inside of the crock and up the sides.
  • Add the Chicken Breasts.
  • Add the Alfredo Sauce.
  • Fill the Alfredo Sauce Jar full of water, put the lid back on tightly, give it a good shake and add on top of the Alfredo Sauce.

    My simple recipe only needs a few extra ingredients for the best results. However, you need to please your taste buds, so try different things.

    I typically add 5-6 extra ingredients, but you might like more or less.

    Its all up to you to make it your own sauce with the same or different ingredients.

    Here are some things you can add to your own Alfredo sauce to make it delicious:

    • Garlic in any form
    • Any type of fresh herbs

    I also like to add some protein, and I prefer chicken, either chopped or shredded.

    Ive also used shredded beef. Or if you prefer seafood, fish and shrimp are good too.

    For an extra creamy sauce, add some cream cheese or heavy cream. If you dont have either of those, a little bit of sour cream also works wonders and adds depth of flavor to the sauce.

    If you want to add color to your Alfredo sauce, top it with chives, parsley flakes, or pieces of red bell pepper.

    I do this because I think that when food looks good it also tastes better.

    If you like a little bit of tartness to your Alfredo sauce, try adding some yogurt, either plain or Greek.

    Another thing you can add is a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. It provides a hint of sour that balances out the richness of the cream.

    Im sure there are plenty of ways to do this, but Ive found this to be the easiest way.

    Feel free to switch out the ingredients to ones you prefer.

    I believe that the best flavors are the ones you and your family like.

    I also highly recommend choosing just a few of the above ingredients to test the first few times.

    Pour the jar of Alfredo sauce into a medium saucepan and turn the burner to medium-high heat.

    As soon as you see a couple of bubbles, turn it down to medium-low heat.

    Now start adding the ingredients you like.

    I highly recommend sautéing the onions if you choose chopped onions as one of the ingredients because that brings out the flavor.

    I used all dried seasonings because thats what I had. But if you have access to fresh ingredients, I highly recommend using those.

    My pepper mill is still packed , so I used already ground pepper.

    Fresh ground pepper is much better. Or you can use white pepper.

    I added chopped chicken that I cooked earlier to make chicken Alfredo.

    If you dont have fresh cooked chicken, you can use the canned version.

    After its added to the cream sauce with the other ingredients, you probably wont be able to tell the difference.

    When Im in the mood for seafood, I might use either shrimp or scallops instead of chicken. Both are good. Try using a variety of different proteins to see which ones you like.

    As you add ingredients, you may want to turn the burner up to medium heat to keep the sauce hot.
