When possible, use a surfactant to remove the stain on the surface. That may not be enough, so also apply an oxidizer to knock out the chromophores. For example, you might start with dish soap and follow it up with hydrogen peroxide.

Is lemon juice the best course of action? Then washing in cold water? It’s red, so I assumed it was a tomato stain but I don’t really see tomatoes in the ingredient list. The stains will have dried by the time the pants can be cleaned.

Things Youll Need To Remove Bbq Sauce Stain

It would be best if you considered that the quicker you can address the issue, the better. By doing so, the sauce will not get a chance to set in and get deeper into the rug fibers. Follow the guideline below if a BBQ sauce stain ruins your rugs charm and you have trouble removing it.

Remove the stain bulk

Begin by using a dull knife or a butter knife, which works best. Scrape up any remaining BBQ sauce stain that is on the rug.Then, dab the stain with warm water to lift as much of the barbecue sauce stain as possible.

Use Hydrogen Peroxide

Use Hydrogen Peroxide . Pour a small amount of it on the BBQ sauce stain, then cover it with some plastic wrap. After that, place a towel on top of your plastic wrap and a book on top of your towel. Use white vinegar and water

Note: BBQ sauce has a very strong color and if you dont get into action soon enough, you wont be able to remove it at home. In such cases, try asking a rug expert to conduct a deep rug cleaning with an optimized solution to remove the stain.
