The 0ver-all flavor profile definitely veers towards the barbecue end of the spectrum. A nice sweet, smokiness with just a hint of heat tickling in the background. The little bit of heat didnt really make us think we were tasting hot sauce, in fact we didnt notice any of the usual vinegary zing you get from hot sauce, rather just a zippy burn with the barbecue. If these narrow ripple potato chips were any less hearty the powerful layer of seasoning would surely have overwhelmed them, but luckily Old Vienna of St Louis Riplets are some sturdy potato chips.
If you like your chips salty, with loads of seasoning and flavor to them, then these chips would be right up your alley.
