What Makes The Hot Sauces Small

HOT ONES’ Dragon In The Clouds sauce!!! || Heavy Metal Hot Sauce

We work exclusively with small batch hot sauce makers, many of whom are just starting out in the industry! That means their sauces are made with love by hand in shared kitchens or co-packing spaces, versus mass-produced in factories like some of the grocery store brands . It also makes it possible for them to use high quality, responsibly-sourced ingredients ranging from garlic, jalapeno, vinegar, habanero pepper, carrot, cilantro, and much more.

Is Dragon In The Clouds Worth It

This was a tough one. We have tried and loved many sauces from Hot Ones, from Los Calientes to The Last Dab. We expected great things, but we have to settle on a 2/5 rating due to the high cost and the bizarre, bitter flavor and usability.

Kudos to First We Feast for making something truly unique, and we will continue to try this sauce on different foods going forward. Who knows, maybe it is the perfect sauce foroysters, or something.

What Can You Use Dragon In The Clouds Hot Sauce With

As weve mentioned, the tangy citrus flavor is not going to pair beautifully with every single meal.

However, dont let this put you off right away. You can still use the hot sauce on a number of dishes, but you might need to be a little more creative and adventurous.

There are a few ways that we have found success by using our bottle of Dragon In The Clouds hot sauce. For starters, rubbing it over protein before cooking can be a great way to season the meat without multiple products.

Rub a small amount of Dragon In The Clouds over chicken or fish before cooking to ramp up its intensity. You can also add the hot sauce to the protein after it’s been cooked and is on your plate, although the former method will leave it with a more even coverage.

We also like adding drops of this hot sauce to marinades and sauces that were making. A small amount goes a long way with this sauce, so start with a few droplets rather than a generous helping.

Adding just a small amount will ensure that you get the most of the spiciness as well as some of the tangy flavor, but not too much to overpower your dish.

The same can be done with tamer dishes that youre making. Some people just love spice, and were some of those people.

Anything without spice is dull to us, so lets add a few drops of Dragon In The Clouds hot sauce to the pot and see what happens.

Rising And First We Feasts Dragon In The Clouds Sauce Review

88Rising and First We Feasts Dragon in the Clouds Sauce

This. Sauce. Is. HOT! Yah!!

The first ingredient is Ghost Chile and it shows. The rest of the ingredients are things like essential oils from mustard, Szechuan peppercorns, and orange, and its final ingredient is yuzu juice. I dont think I have ever had yuzu before, but I feel like I have heard about it a lot lately. It seems like its an in ingredient for the cooking videos and articles Ive come across.

As for the taste, its very bright and citrusy. Its a lot like Sriracha, but turned all the way up. Very fresh tasting. It has a good flavor

but its hotter than I can really handle. I only had two finger dabs of it, and thats plenty. Its sticking around, too. ~20 minutes later, I still really feel it on my tongue.

Suggested dishes: With all the citrus flavor, if you want to really kick up your Asian fish dishes, this seems like itd be really good on there. Or maybe in some Ramen.

Entirely not flavor-related, but the packaging for this sauce is on point. The box was amazing that it came in, and that bottle is beautiful. Whomever came up with that design did a fantastic job of it.

This will be a donation sauce, but if you want to give it a try for yourself, you can find it here:

It features a new pepper bred by the notorious pepper scientist Smokin Ed Currie of the Puckerbutt Pepper Company called The Apollo Pepper, which is a descendant of one of his other infamous chilis: Pepper X. Smokin Ed estimates The Apollo clocks in well over 3 million Scoville heat units making it the worlds hottest pepper. How Much Does Dragon In The Clouds Cost

OMGGGGG: HOT ONES x 88RISING present DRAGON IN THE CLOUDS HOT SAUCE !!!

This is not a cheap hot sauce. Especially considering the size of the bottle. However, it is a limited edition sauce that will likely sell out quickly and go for big money on ebay soon. It also uses hard-to-source ingredients that are likely high in cost.

With that being said, Dragon in the Clouds is an unavoidably expensive $25 plus shipping for 4oz of hot sauce. Total cost for our bottle was about $31 shipped. Thats a steep price for a small amount of sauce, though it does offer a new and exotic flavor. You also get some pretty unique packaging and presentation. But at the end of the day, youre only worried about the contents of the sauce and whether it is truly worth $30+ to you.

Was Dragon In The Clouds Hot Sauce Worth It

Yeah, we think that this hot sauce is worth it if youre looking for your next culinary adventure. Sure, the flavor is different and the price is slightly higher than we might like, but Dragon In The Clouds does exactly what is asked of it.

It gives your food an unreal kick and offers a flavor rather than just the spice alone.

We think that the hot sauce is high-quality by using premium ingredients, so youre not being duped out of your money.

If you like citrusy sauces and want a fresh kick from your hot sauce, Dragon In The Clouds is a great choice for you and you should try it. If you dont like citrusy flavors, maybe you should keep looking.

Wed give it a 4 / 5, but the polarizing effect could mean that you rate it very differently.

Dragon In The Clouds Scoville & Spiciness

Dragon in the Clouds is very spicy, certainly among the hottest sauces we have reviewed. It is clearly meant to be eaten in small amounts, given the bottles small size and powerful flavor.

There is no available Scoville rating for the sauce, however, if we had to guess, it is likely around the 1,000,000 SHU mark. Given that the primary ingredient is Ghost Peppers, this estimate should hold true. It also hits harder on the palate than most, with an almost immediate burn that lasts and lasts.

This Scoville rating is just an estimate, but to keep it simple, the sauce is really hot. If youre familiar with ghost peppers, youll know what we mean.

Hot Ones And 88rising Collaborate On New Hot Sauce Dragon In The Clouds

The hottest show on the web and the hottest hip-hop collective join forces for a collaboration set to break the Internet. First We Feasts Hot Ones and 88rising have teamed up to create Dragon in the Clouds a limited-edition hot sauce available on Thursday, August 15, at 11 a.m. ET at 88nightmarket.com and Saturday, August 17, at the Head in the Clouds Festival.

With Dragon in the Clouds, Hot Ones and 88rising combine to create total sensory overload. Contrasting yet harmonious flavors fuse with face-melting chilies to induce panic and euphoria, including floral Sichuan peppercorn, ghost peppers, vinegar, yuzu, mustard and fresh garlic. The sauce itself is the true definition of a rollercoaster: intense at first taste, mellows soon after, then slowly crescendos toward the top of the Scoville scale.

This collaboration pays homage to the two brands creative history together, combining extreme heat with carefully curated flavors from Asia. The ingredients reference the diverse backgrounds of 88risings roster: yuzu to represent Japan , sambal to represent Indonesia and Sichuan peppercorns to represent the Higher Brothers . Packed with habanero peppers, it is one of the hottest sauces Hot Ones has ever released! Fans can also purchase Dragon in the Clouds at 88risings Head in the Clouds music festival this Saturday, August 17, and it is available for bundling with limited-edition First We Feast x 88rising merch.

Dragon In The Clouds Consistency

Our bottle of Dragon in the Clouds was relatively thin, pouring very easily from the small spout. However, after watching another review of the sauce on YouTube, it seemed much thicker than ours. Perhaps different batches of the sauce varied slightly in thickness.

We can really only speak for the bottle we received, and ours was thin and almost runny, which can make it a bit tough to meter out. Given the tiny size and the high heat, it would benefit from being a bit thicker.

Hot Ones X 88rising: Dragon In The Clouds Hot Sauce Review

We are huge fans of First We Feasts Hot Ones videos on Youtube and there is something about watching people hurt themselves eating spice wings while being interviewed. Their first episode aired in March 2015 and after 9 seasons, they are still going strong and introducing amazing hot sauce varieties in the market.

Recently, Hot Ones and 88rising, a popular hip-hop collective have joined forces to create a limited edition hot sauce called Dragon in the Clouds. The sauce was teased in Season 2 of Feast Mansion. They use flavours of Sichuan peppercorn, sambal, ghost peppers, vinegar, yuzu, mustard, and fresh garlic to induce an intense heat experience. They do claim this is one of the hottest hot sauces they have ever created.

When we saw the sauce drop, the 4oz bottle originally sold the bottles for $30 each, but then suddenly dropped to $25 on 88nightmarket.com. We initially thought this was a bit strange, but we got refunded the difference right away. Shipping to Canada is possible but it is a bit expensive, so we opted to ship it to our mailbox in the US and make a trip out of it.

When it arrived, it comes in a small black cardboard box with the 4oz. Dragon in the Clouds inside. The design is beautiful.

We went to Popeyes and tried this on their Mac n Cheese and fried chicken to taste test the Dragon in the Clouds hot sauce. Its a very hot sauce, so a dab is good enough! We poured a bunch in our Mac n Cheese and it was instant regret.

Why All
