Hot Ones is a YouTube sensation that has taken the internet by storm. It is produced by First We Feast and Complex Media and is hosted by Sean Evans.
First debuting in March 2015 the shows format consists of host Sean Evans interviewing a celebrity guest while both eat 10 chicken wings, each served with a progressively hotter hot sauce and culminating in The Last Dab, a sauce produced by Hot Ones themselves with a Scoville rating of 2,000,000+ units. The Last Dab was developed by legendary chilehead Smokin Ed Currie of PuckerButt Pepper Co., the creator of the infamous Carolina Reaper, the worlds hottest pepper.
The shows tagline, stated by Evans at the beginning of each episode, is The show with hot questions, and even hotter wings.
As of 19 September 2021 there have been fifteen seasons of Hot Ones produced with a total of 228 episodes. In 2018 Hot Ones won Best Non-Fiction Series at the Streamy Awards and the episodes on YouTube have been viewed more than 50 million times in total.
The Season 16 Lineup of Hot Ones hot sauces was announced by Sean Evans on 17 September 2021 with the first episode of Hot Ones Season 16 scheduled to premiere on Thursday, 23 September.

Which Vinegar Should I Use To Make Hot Sauce
This is the question with ANY hot sauce, as there are many choices, and each will compliment your chili pepper choice in different ways. Most common is Distilled White Vinegar, which is inexpensive and strong in flavor.
Use this if you are seeking to mimic the flavors of the larger commercial brands. White Wine Vinegar is a bit more mellow, and Rice Vinegar even more so, with a touch more sweetness.

Partially because I took the photos right after I cooked it, it darkened up overnight in the fridge quite a bit. Also, because I didnt add any caramel coloring like store-bought barbecue sauce has. Most store-bought barbecue sauce is brown because of artificial coloring! Just an FYI.

This May Be Why Alton Brown Bought Hot Sauce From Amazon Instead Of A Supermarket
Amazon took some heat from Alton Brown for delivering a bottle of Scorned Woman hot sauce that somehow got smashed before arriving at the TV chef’s doorstep . But it’s not clear that Amazon’s to blame. A search for “Scorned Woman hot sauce” on Amazon shows that the product is available from and also from a third-party seller who does their own shipping. In any case, after Brown tagged Amazon in his tweet, the Twitter account reached out, trying to get to the bottom of the problem.
Brown proved himself to be a real connoisseur of hot sauce during his appearance on the popular YouTube show “Hot Ones.” He liked Hot Ones’ own brand of Fiery Chipotle sauce so much he drank it straight from the bottle and took it home with him. Scorned Woman must be just as good but not so good that Brown was willing to make a special trip to the supermarket for it. In that same “Hot Ones” episode, Brown was clear about his distaste for grocery shopping. He gets depressed over what he sees in other shoppers’ carts. “People buy crap and a lot of it,” Brown told “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans. “I worry about that stuff. … There have been times in grocery stores where I’ve just left my cart and walked out.”
We’re guessing the store employees who had to put away Brown’s abandoned groceries aren’t crying over his spilled hot sauce.

Flavor: If you hit up the Mexican restaurants and diners around Carmel or Monterey, this is the stuff youll be pouring on your eggs. It has a flavor dominated by dried herbs and dried garlic, which would typically get dings in my book. But somehow, it seems to work just fine in this context. Its by far the saltiest sauce I tried, but sometimes saltiness is what you crave. If I were nursing a Sunday-morning hangover, this is the one Id reach for to spice up my Bloody Mary or michelada.

Heat level: Moderate to hot
Flavor: Tasting this ketchup-thick hot sauce for the first time, you’d swear that there was tropical fruit in it. But nope, that’s just the fruity pickled Scotch bonnet peppers you’re tasting. There’s garlic, mustard, and celery seed in the bottle, too, but there must be some kind of magic going on to make the flavors of mangoes and pineapples appear where they aren’t. In any case, it’s darned delicious on eggs and sandwiches.
