Little Italy In The Bronx Sauce & Pasta
The Belmont BID is pleased to have partnered with Summer Garden Foods Manufacturing, a company known nationally for its Italian specialty food products. Under this partnership, Summer Garden Foods will launch its latest national brand, Little Italy in the Bronx.
This is an opportunity to enhance and advance our brand beyond our region to a national audience. National recognition like this will help advance the neighborhood as a destination for great authentic Italian food, products, and dining. The creation of the narrative around Little Italy in the Bronx was very important. The BID wanted to ensure how we were characterized was consistent with how we as a community see ourselves, and how our customers and supporters see us. Summer Garden Foods has been a great partner in understanding how important this narrative is.
Seven sauce varieties will be produced at their Green LEED certified® manufacturing facility, and will be made with all natural ingredients including imported Italian tomatoes, olive oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, garlic, onions, and basil. Imported Italian gnocchi, and bronze die pasta made from Tuscan wheat and water from the springs of Valdichiana have also been added to the product line.
Each product label pays homage to neighborhood. It describes what we have accomplished as a community, and aims to support and tell the story of what we have built, so that it grows and endures for another hundred years.

Arthur Avenue, the Little Italy of the Bronx, has created a line of food products to help promote and sustain the venerable neighborhood, also called Belmont. Among the products the local business improvement district has introduced are pasta sauces made by Summer Garden Food, using simple, honest ingredients. Especially notable is the cherry tomato marinara. They are now sold nationally. Bags of new and excellent dried potato gnocchi will be available this summer at and in stores.

Summer Garden Launches Little Italy In The Bronx Sauce
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio A new product from Summer Garden Food Manufacturing will lead to more jobs at its Boardman manufacturing plant while helping to preserve one of Americas most cherished culinary districts.
Little Italy in the Bronx pasta sauces are the culmination of a partnership between Summer Garden and the Belmont Business Improvement District, or Belmont BID, a nonprofit organization that works to preserve the traditions of the Little Italy neighborhood in the Bronx. Also known as Arthur Avenue, or the real Little Italy, according to residents and business owners, it has been designated a Great Street by the American Planning Association and is regularly sought out by tourists for its restaurants, handmade local and imported goods and Italian culture.
Tying the sauce to the area was a passion project for Summer Garden, says Mike Audi, national vice president of sales. We kind of fell in love with the neighborhood.
Arthur Avenue is two streets wide, three blocks long and home to third- and fourth-generation shop owners, bread makers, bakeries, cheese makers, butchers and restaurants, Audi says. Summer Garden was inspired by the culture of the district and worked with Bemont BID to roll out the product.
In December 2018, Little Italy in the Bronx pasta sauces hit the shelves of more than 4,000 stores nationwide, Audi says, generating more than $4 million in sales thus far.
