There Was An Actual Hidden Valley Ranch

Ranch Delivery

Hidden Valley Ranch is not just a brand name, but a real place. In 1956, after Steve Hensons Alaska contract was up, he and Gayle moved down to Santa Barbara, California, and bought the Sweetwater Ranch which they then renamed Hidden Valley Ranch. Their goal was to make the ranch a dude ranch or guest ranch, with outdoor activities, a guest house, and of course, hearty, home-cooked meals.

The ranch was later described by Alan Barker, a former employee who worked at the ranch from 1959 to 1963, in a letter to the LA Times“as a sort of country club, nightclub, dude ranch in the mountains.” Barker recalled, “The ranch was not received well and promptly went broke. During my stay, we lived on peanut butter sandwiches and leftovers from parties thrown there by UCSB fraternities and sororities.”

The saving grace of the Hidden Valley Ranch turned out to be Hidden Valley Ranch . Guests fell in love with salad dressing, demanding jars of the stuff to take home, and soon a mail-order business for ranch seasoning packets completely took over the Hidden Valley Ranch. If youre seriously in need of soaking up the brands history, the first restaurant that served Hidden Valley Ranch dressing back in 1963, Cold Spring Tavern, is still open today.

Hidden Valley Now Has Ranch

Confession time: Some of us have been known to dip our pizza slices in ranch dressing. And why not? The salad is right there, and the combination of creamy ranch and crispy, bready crust is delish. Now Hidden Valley, the company known for its popular ranch dressing, is selling three new dipping sauces, and one is even pizza-specific.

The Best Pizza in Every State

The new dipping sauces come in three flavors, Zestier Ranch, Bold Buffalo, and Ranch-Dipped Pizza.

Zestier Ranch should really come with some mouthwash. We upped the ante on this one,” the companys website says. We wanted to make Ranch two times zestier and we crushed it. So, when those special dipping occasions arise, think twice the garlic, twice the onion twice the taste.

Bold Buffalo is for those who love the tangy taste of saucy Buffalo Wings. This stuff is intense, the website brags. Buttermilk, red peppers, onion and vinegar.

And finally, Ranch-Dipped Pizza, which even shows a slice of pizza going for a dive in a bath of ranch dressing on the bottle. Pizza and Ranch the combo that inspires passion in everyone, the site notes. Now that theyre together in one rich, creamy dip, you can add a third thing any dip-worthy delight youve got on hand. Pizza, Ranch and potato chips? Get ready, get set, go.

Ranch Sauce Pizza With Chicken And Bacon Tips

There are a few shortcut tips that you can use to speed up the process of this pizza or you can make it completely from scratch as directed in the recipe card below.

  • The dough. First of all, I use this pizza dough recipe. It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour for the dough to rise. You can make it up to 24 hours in advice to save time. It stores nicely in the refrigerator, ready whenever you are.
  • Secondly, you can purchase a ball of pizza dough from a local pizza restaurant. Usually, they dont advertise this but most of them will sell you one for $4 to $5 if you ask. You can also find frozen pizza dough in most grocery stores.
  • As a last resort, the refrigerated dough will work. it is not as good to me as the other options.
  • The chicken. You can saute chicken breast or purchase and chop a rotisserie chicken.
  • The bacon. Nothing is as good as freshly cooked bacon. However, real bacon bits, typically found with the salad dressings and salad fixings in the grocery store is your quick option.
  • The ranch sauce. This I do not recommend using bottled. I only recommend making it from scratch. Actually, my recipe is not from scratch-scratch. I do use the packaged ranch mix instead of mixing the herbs myself.

Hidden Valley Ranch Doesnt Just Sell Salad Dressing

Hidden Valley Ranch has had seen quite the growth since its Buttermilk Original seasoning packet days. They sell a “secret sauce” that comes in a squirt bottle in three flavors: spicy, smokehouse, and original ranch. They sell dips, and they sell blasted creamy dipping sauces that come in squirt bottles. They sell pasta salads, breading prep kits, and dip cups.

When it comes to ranch dressing, Hidden Valley sells the Original Ranch, of course, but they also sell Original Homestyle, which according to the reviews, may or may not taste different from the original. They also sell Simply Ranch, a line of ranch dressings that claim to have no artificial flavors, preservatives, or colors. For those seeking lighter fare but who still want to get their ranch on, Hidden Valley sells Greek yogurt-based ranch as well as a line of light, fat-free, and organic dressings. They sell too many flavors to list, from millennial-friendly flavors like avocado ranch and Sriracha ranch to the old school classics like cheddar bacon ranch and Buffalo ranch.

However, not every product has been a success. Back when ranch dressing was sold as flavor dry mixes, Hidden Valley had trouble with bacon bits poking holes in the packaging of the Ranch with Bacon flavor.

  • You dont have to bring the spread up to room temperature before spreading.

  • We Are Entering A Brave New World With This Marvel Of Human Ingenuity Hidden Valley Has Released Three New Blasted Flavors And One Of Them Is Ranch

Hidden Valley Blasted Ranch Dipped Pizza Creamy Dipping ...

We are entering a brave new world with this marvel of human ingenuity. Hidden Valley has released three new “Blasted” flavors, and one of them is ranch-dipped pizza-flavored ranch dressing. It’s what would happen if M.C. Escher had his own dressing. The ranch goes back into the ranch like an endless staircase that only leads back to itself.

Yes, the flavor of the ranch is pizza dipped in ranch. It’s ranch-dipped pizza-flavored ranch. That sound? That’s minds being blown. While one of the other flavors follows the Nacho Cheesier Doritos brand of remarketing with Zestier Ranch, the third is also a brain teaser. It’s Bold Buffalo, which is very nearly ranch-dipped buffalo wing-flavored ranch.

Alright. Catch your breath, because the dressing raises a serious question: What the hell are you supposed to put it on? Do you just eat it on its own because it already has the pizza flavor? Do you dip it in more pizza as Escher would have wanted you to do? Since people already put ranch on everything, we’ll undoubtedly find out soon enough what it’s good on besides french fries. Hopefully, you can figure out what it’s good on before Hidden Valley winds up offering it in a full keg.

Hidden Valley Ranch Dominates The Market When It Comes To Ranch Dressing

Ranch has been the most popular salad dressing in the United States since 1992, when it overtook Italian and has ruled the salad bowls of America ever since. And its fitting that the brand that invented ranch dressing dominates the market share of the lucrative, caloric, buttermilk dressing. Hidden Valley Ranch holds a 51 percent market share, and as of that same year, the brand had seen 19 consecutive quarters of growth.

In 2019, ranch dressing accounted for one billion dollars in sales in the U.S., overtaking ketchup and officially becoming Americas most popular condiment, in addition to its favorite salad dressing. Hidden Valley decided to lean into the concept of ranch as more than just a salad dressing starting in 2012, by launching a product with differing branding and labeling on the bottle “the new ketchup” and “for everything” and a slightly thicker and smoother consistency. A spokesperson for the brand, David Kargas, claimed that they werent trying to replace ketchup, but were responding to market research showing that around 15 percent of ranch users ate the dressing on non-salad food items. As for the most popular non-salad food to enjoy ranch with well, that would be fries and chips, of course.

Where Did Ranch Dressing Come From Anyway

Ranch dressing was the creation of Steve Henson, a California man who owned a property called Hidden Valley Ranch in the 1950s. Henson and his wife made the dressing for guests and it quickly became the highlight of the tour. Later, the Hensons began mass producing their ranch dressing and, in 1972, they flipped their company to Clorox for a cool $8 million.

That $8 million sum may seem light given the popularity of Hidden Valley dressing today, but that sum translates to nearly $48 million in 2019 dollars. Not bad for a couple of dude ranch owners with a knack for kitchen experimentation.

Hidden Valley Ranch At One Point Released A Keg Of Ranch Dressing And Not Surprisingly Consuming That Much Ranch Isn’t Healthy

In 2017, Hidden Valley Ranch released a five liter keg of ranch , because why have a bottle in your fridge when you can have a keg of the stuff? This Hidden Valley keg was available for a limited run online for a mere $50, offering ranch lovers the opportunity to throw an awesome party and/or test their will power. Not surprisingly, it was more ranch than most people need or should consume.

The nutrition label on a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch lists the serving size as two tablespoons, and the keg contains 170 servings. Hidden Valley Ranch contains relatively high levels of sodium and saturated fats that, if eaten in moderation, are pretty innocuous, but, according to nutrition expert Sarah Krieger, “In a 5-liter keg, there are 170 servings of 2 tablespoons, so the consumer is in charge of how much to enjoy, but should be aware of how quickly it adds up.” It’s safe to say that doing a Hidden Valley Ranch keg stand would be deleterious to your waistline.

Hidden Valley Ranch Has The Funniest Crocs Of The Year

    Hidden Valley Ranch Commercial

Hawked by noted ranch lover Saweetie.

The great Crocs resurgence has counted the likes of Justin Bieber, Diplo, and Post Malone as key collaborators â and now the club is growing to include… Hidden Valley Ranch.

Those looking to rep their favorite dressing turned condiment on foot are in luck, as Crocsâ latest collaboration brings a pair of creamy white Classic Clogs. Green speckles across the foam bring home the ranch look, while a total of nine Jibbitz charms rep the wide range of foods people like to dip in the sauce.

There’s a collection of vegetables, pizza, chicken, hamburger, and fries along with one choice I have to question, a taco. Admittedly, I do not understand the appeal of ranch one bit â and have been scarred by the smell of a ranch dressing fountain at an Eric Andre event years backâ but never have I ever heard of people putting it on a taco instead of sour cream. It sounds like freak behavior to me, but then again wearing ranch Crocs is also freakish in the most hilarious way.

Hereâs what you do, ranch lovers â Noted ranch lover and rapper Saweetie is helping to promote the unexpected Crocs x Hidden Valley collaboration. Fans in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York can click on the sticker in to have a chance at receiving delivery of the Crocs along with a bottle of ranch and pizza.
