How To Arrange A Veggie Tray With Ranch Dip

Start by choosing your tray. I usually use a large platter, plate or tray. This time I used a quarter sheet pan, but you can use whatever you think will hold the right amount of vegetables.

Place your dip bowl in the middle, and start placing your vegetables around the bowl. I like to alternate between green veggies and not-green veggies to give it a little more visual interest. If you end up with two greens next to each other try to make them ones of varying texture.

Bonus points if you add something a little less-healthy to your tray like potato chips because every veggie tray needs a little something salty/crunchy.

    How To Make Buttermilk

Buttermilk is one of those ingredients that most people don’t keep in their fridge. But I do feel like it’s an integral part of this recipe, as it gives ranch dressing its slightly tangy taste. The good news is that you can easily make your own buttermilk!

Making buttermilk is as easy as using 1 tablespoon of acid for every cup of milk.

    So for this recipe:

  • Add 1 ½ teaspoons of lemon juice to a 1-cup measuring cup.
  • Fill the rest of the way to the half-cup mark with whole milk and stir to combine.
  • Let the mixture sit for five to ten minutes, stir, and it will have thickened and curdled, turning into buttermilk!
  • Better Than Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

    Prep Time: Total Time:

This homemade ranch is not only easy to make, but its WAY healthier than commercial dressings, which are filled with icky GMO oils, preservatives, and more. This creamy dressing is delicious on salads, for a veggie dip, with French fries, and even on sandwiches.

    • 1 tsp. dried chopped onions
    • 1 tsp. dried dill weed
    • 1 tsp. dried parsley

A little over 50 years ago no one had ever heard of ranch dressing and now it is America’s most popular salad dressing. We do much more than top our salads with it too. It is our dip of choice for vegetables, a marinade for our meat or poultry, and, a flavoring in our favorite brands of corn and potato chips. I buy very little bottled salad dressing in general , but, when my boys were small, I was one of those mom’s who kept a stack of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning packets in my pantry at all times. Why? Like many of you, it was the only way I could get my kids to eat their vegetables.

    Fiesta Ranch Dip Recipe

Todays recipe is one of my favorites! Mostly because of how easy it is, but also because it is unbelievably delicious! It doesnt look like much, but I promise you will love it!

Before I share this super easy dip recipe with you, I have to first tell you a quick story about how I first fell in love with this copycat fiesta ranch dip!

My local church puts on a Taste of the Seasons each year in December. Basically a bunch of families pile in and share a delicious recipe. We put the samples out on the tables for everyone to try and everyone gets to take home a cookbook.

It is by far one of my favorite times of the year! It is probably my husbands favorite part of the Christmas season. I mean what man doesnt like to eat?!

Well, one year, my friend Deanna, made this Fiesta Ranch Dip recipe with sour cream and I couldnt stop eating it. I took more than my fair share of samples.

In fact I might have gotten a few people to go get more samples so she wouldnt know I was going back to for seconds I mean fourths!

So Christmas Eve rolls around and I decided to make this recipe for my husbands family. Everyone was raving about how good it was.

Me, being the smart person I am, took complete credit for the recipe. Haha! Ok, I really didnt, but I cant say that I didnt think about it!

How Long Does Ranch Dressing Keep

Because this ranch recipe contains mayo, sour cream, and buttermilk, it definitely needs to stay chilled.

And it will be fine in the fridge for up to a week or so…if you can keep from eating it all before then, that is! I typically pay attention to the expiration date of the buttermilk and sour cream to know if my ranch will keep for less than a week.

Buffalo Chicken Ranch Flatbread | Feat. Binging with Babish

Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix is shelf stable for up to a year, depending on the age of your dried herbs and spices. In other words, the fresher the herbs and spices that you use in your mix, the longer it will last. Heres What Youll Need To Make Homemade Ranch Dip

    • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

In place of buttermilk powder, I recommend using vegan milk powder. There are lots of options out there so you can really choose whichever suits your dietary needs or restrictions. I like using soy milk powder or coconut milk powder.

Simply combine the ingredients and keep them in airtight container until youre ready to use them. To use this in place of ranch mix, use 3 4 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning in place of 1 packet.

    Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Ingredients:

    • Vegetable Oil
    • water
    • artificial flavors
    • disodium phosphate
    • disodium inosinate

WOW! Ok where to start. First things first.

I then took a trip to the supermarket in search of a ranch dressing that did not contain canola oil, vegetable oil or soybean oil as the first ingredient and got exhausted. If any of you find one, please let me know. As a matter of fact I pulled this from Annies Organic website. Here are the ingredients in their ranch dressing: *EXPELLER PRESSED VEGETABLE OIL , WATER, *TAHINI, *APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, *SOY SAUCE , *LEMON JUICE CONCENTRATE, SEA SALT, *GARLIC, *TOASTED SESAME SEEDS, *PARSLEY, *CHIVES, XANTHAN GUM.*ORGANIC INGREDIENTS.

All expeller means is the oil wasnt extracted using a heated solvent like hexane. Rather, they were heated and put under extreme pressure to release the oil. Given a choice, ALWAYS choose organic oil over its counterpart as at least its GMO free. Im disappointed in Annies because I find they have a few products we use.

How Do I Make Ranch Dip

    Orange

If you enjoy Ranch Dip, adapting this recipe is as simple as leaving out the buttermilk and subbing extra mayo and sour cream in its place. I can assure you that your carrot sticks will never be so happy!

I really hope yall give this Homemade Ranch Dressing a try! Its soooo simple to make and it’s absolutely delicious. The most time-intensive step is chopping the herbs, if you happen to be using fresh. Other than that, its just a matter of measuring, whisking, and then remaining patient as the dressing chills.

Itll have your family and friends begging for more.

Is There A Dairy Free Ranch Dip Mix

There are so many recipes for ranch dip out there, and most of them use ranch dip mix. The kind that you get in the packet near the salad dressings in the grocery store. You know the kind, and they definitely contain milk.

But, I recently found a few that dont contain milk the store brand versions at two of my local grocery stores and the Franks Red Hot mix.

I knew immediately that I need to share this find with everyone. Its such an easy shortcut, especially since most of you are already cooking more than you really want to be.

I realize that the ingredient lists on these packets arent the cleanest, but when you want a quick ranch dip, at least you have this option. And, if you want to make your own mix, Ive listed out how you can do that too.
