Tabasco sauce is easily made from tabasco chili peppers, vinegar, and salt. The taste of the sauce will vary depending on where the peppers are grown and the quality of the vinegar used. In order to make tabasco sauce, combine the ingredients, cook the sauce, then strain and store the sauce.

Straining The Pulp And Storing The Sauce

EWG
  • 1Puree the sauce in a blender. Once the peppers have completely cooled, transfer them to a blender. Blend the peppers thoroughly, until they create a pureed liquid sauce.XResearch source
  • You can use a food processor if yours has a puree setting.
  • 2Pour the sauce into an air-tight container and refrigerate for 2 weeks. Use a funnel to transfer the sauce into a glass jar with an air-tight lid. Seal the jar and store it in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. This will allow the sauce to steep. The seeds in the sauce will make it spicier as it steeps.XResearch source
  • 3Strain the mixture. After 2 weeks, remove the sauce from the refrigerator. Pour it through a fine strainer to remove any seeds that are still in the sauce. Make sure to place a bowl or jar under the strainer to catch the sauce as it drips through.XResearch source
  • 4Return the sauce to the refrigerator. Once the sauce has been strained, place it into a tightly sealed glass jar or plastic container and return it to the refrigerator.XResearch source
  • Tabasco sauce, if stored in the fridge, can keep for over a year.
  • Freezing isn’t recommended, since it will alter the flavor and consistency of the sauce.

The Ultimate Steak Marinade And Dressing

After posting a picture of steaks I had marinating, on the s a few months back, there were several requests for this recipe. So as promised , here goes. Admittedly I like steaks naked salt, black pepper and a very hot grill, but there are times when you need to add a little more flavor to a cheaper cut of meat and quite honestly.. this is the ONLY way to do so.

    Youll Need

1 cup chopped cherry tomato 3 leaves shado beni 2 tablespoon chopped parsley1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepperpinch sea salt1/2 scotch bonnet pepper

    * I used a 1lb top sirloin, but you can use just about any cut you like/can afford.

This a very simple recipe to put together and will take less than 5 minutes. Finely chop the parsley, shallot, shado beni, thyme and scotch bonnet pepper. Remember to wear gloves when handling such hot peppers, wash your hands immediately after with soap and water and don NOT include any of the seeds if youre concerned about the raw heat. Place everything in a deep bowl and add the olive oil, salt, black pepper and the juice of a lemon and orange.

Give the marinade a good whisk and get ready to marinate your steaks.

Wash and pat your steaks dry with paper towels, then pour 1/2 of the marinade on them/it and rub the steaks to evenly coat them. Place the remaining marinade, which we will now call a dressing, in the fridge .

BTW, add some freshly chopped mint and oregano to the mix and you can use this on lamb as well.
