SomeOne started by reducing the brand name down to just Fridays, based on the fact that the meaning of TGI had become lost and confused over time. The new logo is inspired by the original Fridays signage from the 60s, and can also be reduced down to an F icon to be used when closer to the brand, onsite or online.

The first TGI Fridays opened up in 1965 on First Avenue and 63rd Street in New York City. Alan Stillman, a perfume salesman, started the bar and restaurant because he wanted the chance to get to know the unmarried airline stewardesses and other single women that lived in his neighborhood.

According to legend, Stillman thought up the name TGI Fridays while he was skiing with a friend. He was so furious because his friend had beaten him on the slopes, that he screamed out Thank goodness its Friday! and thought that it would be a really great name for his restaurant.

Which Jack Daniels Sauce Is Used At Tgi Fridays

This one is very similar to the one you will find at any of the many TGI Fridays across America.

For us up here in Canada where we dont have this restaurant chain but love the goodness of their sauce, you can now make it at home!

Barbecuing can be year-round even in our cold climate especially if you do the ribs as we do.

We like to cook the ribs slowly in the oven, 300F for 3 hours on a rack above a water bath covered tightly with foil. Here is the recipe on our BBQing With The Nolands site.

We cook them until they are almost falling off the bone then seasoned and slathered in sauce and finished on the BBQ. Delicious!! I find this glaze is best with ribs but you can also try it with chicken, turkey, salmon, steak, burgers, pork, or whatever you like.

Try this wonderful glaze next time you are looking for something different than BBQ sauce. You will love it!!

INGREDIENTS:

  • salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION:

  • Season the steak with salt and pepper and sear it on the FIREDISC® with the olive oil.
  • When they are cooked to the desirable point take them off the FIREDISC® and set aside.
  • Add the garlic, the onions and the mushrooms to the pan and cook for about 5 min.
  • Add the Legacy Whisky and flambé allowing it to reduce all the way.
  • Pour the wine and let it reduce 1/3 of the volume then add the cream.
  • Let it cook until the desirable consistency and season the sauce with salt and pepper.
  • Add the steak back to the pan to warm and enjoy!

You can also prep it ahead by roasting the garlic, chopping the onion, measuring out the brown sugar, etc.

The biggest time saver when prepping ahead, is roasting the garlic. This can be done several days in advance, and saves about 40 to 50 minutes of time.

There are quite a few ways you can doctor up this Jack Daniels sauce recipe.

  • Add more cayenne pepper: If you want the sauce to be spicier, add ¼ to ½ teaspoon more.
  • Add sugar: You may decide that youd like the sauce to be sweeter. Stir in a couple tablespoons of granulated sugar until its as sweet as you like.
  • Add liquid smoke: This will give the sauce a flame-grilled taste. Be careful though, a little goes a long way!

How To Make Jack Daniels Sauce

Jack Daniels Sauce… unbelievable !!!! ((TGIF STYLE))

There are 2 steps to this recipe: first, youll need to roast the garlic and then make the glaze. You can roast the garlic up to a day ahead of time.

  • Cut about ½-inch off the top of the head of garlic to expose the garlic cloves. Cut the root end a bit so that the garlic sits flat.
  • Remove the papery skin from the garlic, but leave enough so that the cloves stay together.
  • Put the head of garlic into a small baking dish and drizzle the top of the garlic with olive oil, cover it and bake in a 325-F oven for an hour.
  • Let the garlic cool until you can handle it.
  • Combine the water, pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and cayenne in a medium saucepan until it boils. Turn it down to simmer.
  • Squeeze the garlic out of the head and add it to the pot with the glaze in it.
  • Add the lemon juice, onion, whiskey, and crushed pineapple.
  • Simmer over very low heat for 50 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by half and is thick and syrupy.

    How Do You Make Tgi Fridays Jd Sauce

    Yes, it is perfect on ribs, but it also is great on just about anything else that you put on your grill from burgers to chicken! To start off you have to roast a head of garlic in the oven. Cut off the top and drizzle with olive oil and roast for about an hour and let cool. Dont eat it right away! You are going to need it! Squeeze the roast garlic into a small bowl and set aside.

    Next, in a medium saucepan mix water, pineapple juice, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Cover with a lid and let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients and let simmer for 40-50 minutes.

    Make sure your sauce has reduced, it should be thick and syrupy and able to coat the back of a spoon.

Put all the sauce ingredients into a saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes or until the sauce coats the back of a spoon and stays in place if a finger is run through it. Shape the ground beef into patties weighing about of a pound each. Season liberally with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

    Method. STEP 1. Add the oil to a saucepan and cook the onion and garlic until soft. About 4 to 5 minutes. STEP 2.     How To Make It

    There are really only 3 steps to making this dipping sauce .

    Step 1 Peel the shallots and place them in a food processor with the pineapple rings and garlic cloves. Process until the onion has been chopped until it is approximately the size of grains of rice.

    Step 2 Place the chopped onions and pineapple in a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients. Cover with a lid, bring to a boil, and then turn the heat down to a simmer. Leave for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and leave to simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until this mixture is thick and glossy.

    Step 3 Allow the sauce to cool and then transfer to a clean sterilised jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. If you prefer a smoother sauce, blend with a stick-blender.
