The company reached a milestone last fall when it started supplying its sauces to about 275 Food Lion stores in Virginia.
We feel like its a great product and now we really want to see it grow further, said Ujevic, the companys co-founder and its director of customer relations.

We definitely werent profitable. We are developing and growing our inventory, said Ujevic, who graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2015.
To grow sales, the companys goal is to have its two sauces a 5-ounce hot sauce and a 10-ounce barbecue sauce sold at supermarkets elsewhere in Virginia and nearby states, with the hope of having them available on a national scale, he said.
That expansion would include making other hemp-infused sauces, such as a marinara sauce.
We have lots of ideas, he said.

And while that might be a win for people looking to regulate their sugar intake, it sure didnt hit the sweet spot with our panel. Though they werent alerted to a faux-sugar sauce in the lineup, two testers seemed to sniff out the impostor, both likening it to Diet Coke. Others found it to be overly sweet, and as one put it, not the good kind of sweet. A couple others found the cinnamon notes to be overpowering. One taster summarized the reaction: Oh gosh, no.

But the unlikely champ high fructose corn syrup and all won over our panel by not offending anyone and by offering a classic flavor profile. Like old-school Burger King BBQ sauce, said one nostalgia-struck taster. Sweet without being ketchupy, said another.
Others praised it for being complex, fruity and a little spicy with a honey BBQ flavor. And while we know well take plenty of heat for crowning a Wal-Mart sauce, the unexpected winner might help assure readers of our methodology. New Barbecue Sauce Made By Rowan County Friends Hits Food Lion Shelves

GRANITE QUARRY Six years ago, guests at a backyard graduation party could not stop raving about the chicken.
Seasoned with a rub concocted by Eli Fisher, the baked chicken surpassed even the grilled meats in flavor.
We had other foods there too, but once people tasted the chicken with the rub, they couldnt get enough, party host Tom Bost said. People talked about it for months.
It didnt take long for Fisher and Bost, along with fellow party guest Archie Jarrell, to sense an opportunity. Before the night was over, they had concocted something else a plan to go into business together making and selling Fishers dry rub, barbecue sauces and marinades.
Now, after years of taste tests, recipe refining, bottling and distributing contracts and a lot of laughs, the three friends-turned-business partners have landed a deal that could help launch their sauces across the region. Little E Sauces and Marinades is now for sale in all Rowan County Food Lion stores.
Available in three flavors original barbecue, Carolina style barbecue and a beef, pork and venison marinade, all $3.39 plus a dry rub, the preparations are located in the specialty foods section at Food Lion.
Jarrell, who owns a construction company, and Bost, a real estate agent, said they were impressed that baked chicken could compete with something on the grill. Talk about starting a business started as a casual conversation.
It puts a little chef in everyone, Jarrell said.

A. Standard of Review
A motion to dismiss should be granted only when it appears that the plaintiff can prove no set of facts in support of a claim that would entitle the plaintiff to relief on that claim. Conley v.
