Blairs Ultra Death Sauce
Scoville units: ~1.3 millionPeppers used: Habanero, cayenne, serrano, joloki
Blairs is clearly the clubhouse leader in punching through the clouds and attaining absolutely insane Scoville numbers. Case in point: their Guinness World Records-certified 16 Million Reserve bottling with, yes, 16 million Scoville units and a warning for it to not even opened without using extreme caution. Unfortunately, that sauce and many others from Blairs Reserve series are highly limited , and of course 100% extract too . Ultra Death is their hottest regular sauce, a tantalizing mix of habanero, cayenne, serrano, and jolokia peppers. Buy it here.

Marvel Cinematic Universe star Tom Hollandwho MCU fans know and love as Spider-Man/Peter Parkerguested on theHot Ones Dec. 9 season 16 finale.
As hot sauce brands go, Hot Ones delivers varieties that are off the Scoville scale. Holland appeared a week ahead of the highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Far from Home premiere. He was determined to get through the sauce lineup without drinking any milk. Could he do it?
To honor National Hot Sauce Day, heres a lineup of the 10 hot sauces featured on Hot Ones season 16. For diehard Hot Ones fans or those who love to really spice things up, the following Hot Ones season 16 selections make excellent hot sauce gifts.
Bravado Spice Black Garlic Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce
More products featured on Hot Ones? You bet. They know whats up, and this Bravado Spice Co. sauce is basically the best thing on the planet. Gluten-free, vegan friendly, totally natural, and spicy as a lava hurricane. Theres no official Scoville unit rating, but much like the Torchbearer that we just reviewed, this includes garlic and the Carolina reaper in its sauce. What could be better?
Well, thats what Bravado Spice Co. was wondering, but they figured it outmaple syrup. You read that right, maple syrup is the secret ingredient here. Its what makes it work. Its what takes the heat and makes it a bit more savory, turning it into a versatile sauce that you can marinade with, or just pile it on top of your food to feel the concentrated fire of a dwarf star in your mouth. Hot Ones Los Calientes Rojo Hot Sauce
Scoville Units: 49,000
If the original Los Calientes is A New Hope, Los Calientes Rojo is The Empire Strikes Back. Hotter than the original Los Calientes, this version utilizes applewood smoked red jalapeños in addition to habaneros. I feel apricot is an under-appreciated fruit and flavor so Im glad such a big-time sauce features it. Hardcore fans will tell you that this one, not the Original, is the best Hot Ones hot sauce to buy.
Scoville Units: 24,000
Torchbearer Sauces joins High River Sauces with the distinction of making the list of best Hot Ones sauces twice! Sweet, smoky and sensational. They call this one a wing sauce and I think this is the best of the 16 on this list to use on wings if you were only to choose one. You cant go wrong with the flavors of chipotle, garlic, honey, ghost pepper, habanero, and even the mandarin orange comes through.

Senor Lechuga 718 Hot Sauce
Dont let the plain back and white label on Senor Lechuga .718 Hot Saucefool you. This bottle features ghost, guajillo, and pasilla peppers with sour black lime and buffalo ginger. The result: hot meets tart. Hot Ones guest Rob Lowe smiled and said, Clearly, its post-half time after tasting this one.
Lucky Dog Year Of The Dog Thai Chile Pineapple 29800 Scovilles
Dont let the promise of sweet pineapple fool you: this sauce, from the San Francisco Bay company, is hot, hot, hot. Combining pineapple with a host of other ingredients including honey and lime juice, its the dried red chilies that really spice this sauce up.
Youll also get tastes of earthiness thanks to toasted onion and sesame seeds. But combine the heat with the sour lime, pungent mustard, and sweet pineapple, and it will be a burst of flavours in your mouth.
What Peppers Should I Use To Make Louisiana Hot Sauce
As mentioned, traditional peppers include cayenne, tabasco, and red jalapeno peppers, though this style recipe can be made with ANY chili pepper. Carefully selected long cayenne peppers are great.
I have made Louisiana Hot Sauce from superhots and was quite happy with the results. Talk about heat!
Just consider that your end flavor, color and heat will be affected by your chili pepper choices.
Which Vinegar Should I Use To Make Hot Sauce
This is the question with ANY hot sauce, as there are many choices, and each will compliment your chili pepper choice in different ways. Most common is Distilled White Vinegar, which is inexpensive and strong in flavor.
Use this if you are seeking to mimic the flavors of the larger commercial brands. White Wine Vinegar is a bit more mellow, and Rice Vinegar even more so, with a touch more sweetness.
Red Wine Vinegar is made from fermented red wine, which will introduce a slightly fruity flavor to your sauce.
Apple Cider Vinegar is quite fruity, and preferred for when youre seeking a fruity sweetness. Malt Vinegar has a strong, distinctive flavor from its barley ale beginnings, and well worth experimentation.
There are others to consider, such as balsamic vinegar, coconut vinegar, raisin vinegar and more. Experiment to your personal tastes.

How Can You Thicken Hot Sauce
There are two ways to thicken hot sauce. You can bring it to a slow boil over medium heat, uncovered, and let any excess water evaporate. Once the hot sauce cools down, it will be slightly thicker.
The other option is to add a thickener, like cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch or arrowroot with 2 teaspoons of water for each cup of hot sauce and then stir into the sauce over medium heat. Continue stirring for about 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and allow to coolthe sauce will thicken even more once it cools.

Gordon Ramsay Actually Praised One Of The Sauces
Inviting Gordon Ramsay onto a show highlighting food naturally causes anxiety in everyone involved. Onboarding a man known for completely eviscerating the quality of meals he eats likely spells trouble, but Hot Ones knew they needed to sit down with the sultan of slurs to test his tolerance.
Running a successful kitchen, like Ramsay does, involves meticulous preparation, and boy, he arrives prepared. While most guests settle for the water and milk provided, Ramsay brings doughnuts, lemon and lime juice, and antacid. He’s ready to rumble.
Of course, going an entire episode without some kind insult just isn’t Ramsay’s style. At one point, he claims the wings are “getting f***ing smaller and smaller,” and one even “looks like my grandad’s f***ing big toe.” But, he puts his disdain aside for one sauce in particular: the Hot Ones Los Calientes sauce. About 10 minutes into the interview, he actually praises the sauce, saying, “That’s quite nice. I like that. It’s quite zesty.”
Well done, Hot Ones. You pleased the unpleasable.
Puckerbutt Chocolate Plague 690000 Scovilles
Do you really need more of a description here than just the name? Even the image on the bottle is scary enough to make even the most adventurous of hot sauce aficionados cringe in horror at what’s to come.
With almost six times the heat of the already mouth-burning Da Bomb, it is made from 90% pure Chocolate Bhutlah, which is rumored to be some of the worlds hottest peppers. A cross between the bhut jolokia and chocolate douglah, taking a bite of something with this sauce is like setting off fireworks in your mouth.
Promising to offer delicious flavour as well, if youre brave enough, add some to a marinade or drip a few drops into stew if wings arent your thing.

How To Make Fermented Louisiana Hot Sauce The Recipe Method
- 1 pound red chili peppers , chopped
- 1 quart unchlorinated water
- ½-1 cup white wine vinegar to your preference
First, ferment the chili peppers. Chop the peppers then pack them into a jar, leaving at least 1 inch of head space. The peppers may rise a bit when fermenting.
Next, mix 1 quart unchlorinated water with 3 tablespoons sea salt. Pour just enough brine over the peppers to cover them, pressing them down a bit as you go. It is important to keep the peppers covered with brine to avoid spoilage. Check this daily.
Screw on the lid and set the jar away from direct sunlight to ferment for at least 1 week. Ideal temperatures are between 55-75 degrees F. The most active fermentation period is between 1-2 weeks, so be sure to monitor it during this time. Burp the jars often by unscrewing the lid a bit to let out some of the accumulating gases. Or, use an airlock or membrane for easier fermenting. See our page, How to Make Fermented Pepper Mash, for further instruction.
After 1-2 weeks, the fermenting activity will diminish and the brine will turn cloudy and taste acidic.
Pour the fermented peppers, including brine, into a pot along with the vinegar. Bring to a quick boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can strain out the fermented peppers and discard the brine, then boil the peppers with 1 cup vinegar and 1/2-1 teaspoon salt. Some people prefer to use the brine.

In the brief but eventful history of Hot Onesthe show with hot questions and even hotter wingshost Sean Evans has stared down DJ Khaled and eaten the worlds hottest pepper without so much as flinching. Now, hes being rewarded for the most thankless job in Internet show biz with his very own custom-made hot sauce.
Were proud to announce the launch of Hot Ones Fiery Chipotle,a dream hot sauce that we cooked up in the lab with our friends Homeboys Hot Sauce and Heatonist.
Our challenge to Homeboys was simple: Create the perfect turning point sauce for the showsomething with enough kick to get the blood flowing, and an incredible flavor that would make it versatile enough to replace Sriracha and Tabasco on your kitchen counter. He knocked it out the park, balancing chipotle-fueled smokiness with serious heat from habaneros and ghost peppers, plus a hint of sweetness from pineapple and lime.
The sauce debuted in the #5 wing slot on todays new episode with former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone, who gave it his stamp of approval: Thats actually pretty damn good!

The Hottest Featured Sauces Are No Joke
Sure, you might dabble in Sriracha or douse a meal in Tabasco from time to time, but the category you fall into is “bush league.” Have you ever heard of ghost peppers? No? Well, if reading the word “ghost” caused a spooky shiver to climb your spine, that feeling’s warranted.
The Scoville scale measures the pungency of chili peppers and other sweat-inducing cuisine. The more droplets of sweat falling off foreheads means more Scoville heat units, and the sauces on Hot Ones reach the top of the scale. Jalapeños, for example, register anywhere between 2,500 and 10,000 Scoville units. While that sounds like plenty, they don’t even scratch the surface of what exists, and hot sauce connoisseurs will admit even they cower in the face of certain brands. Take the Carolina Reaper. It breaches the 2 million Scoville unit mark, and as the show’s guests make their way through the 10 increasingly spicy wings, they’re introduced to the Reaper at some point.
Hot Ones even has their own line of sauces, aptly named the Hot Ones hot sauces. Some are sweet and mild, but others are brutal mixtures of chipotle peppers, ghost peppers, habanero peppers, and anything else Hell cooks up. The very final mouth burn on wing number 10 comes courtesy of Hot Ones The Last Dab Reduxx, which contains Pepper X, the world’s hottest at over 3 million Scoville units. Yowza.

Gator Hammock Swamp Gator Hot Sauce
The best hot sauce for something spicy and full of flavor is Gator Hammock Swamp Gator Hot Sauce. The complex flavors that make up the spicy sauce include banana, jalapeño, hammock, serrano, and habanero peppers. The vinegar-base sauce is quite spicy but doesn’t completely overtake your taste buds so you can’t taste anything else you’re eating or drinking, which is a definite win in my book.
