Infinity Pepper 1067286 To 1250000shu

For a brief 2 weeks in 2011, the Infinity pepper held the Guinness Book of World Records title as the hottest pepper in the world, before being replaced by the Naga Viper. It stole the crown from the ghost pepper, and its easy to see that both it and the ghost have been relegated far down the super-hot line since that time. Infinity pepper is a good name as the chili has a slow burn, like the ghost pepper, that seems to last a lifetime.

As of November 2013, the aptly named Carolina Reaper has been the Guinness Book of World Records official hottest pepper in the world. Its a United States hot pepper variety with insane heat, coming in from 1,400,000 Scoville heat units up to a mind and taste bud boggling 2,200,000 SHU. Thats essentially 200,000 SHU hotter than the hottest possible Scorpion pepper. Put it another way, its a whole habanero hotter in terms of peak spiciness, and at this top level, it blows past many pepper sprays. The Carolina Reaper has a fruitiness to it, and the PuckerButt Pepper Company have grown it to be a super-hot that doesnt skimp on the overall flavor. That is if you can handle the heat, and thats a big if!

The Mad Dog 357 No. 9 Plutonium is reserved only for those with a rather daring palate. Nothing else comes close to it. Mad Dog 357 Plutonium No. 9 Pepper turns on the ultimate heat in the world of the hottest hot. The extract is composed of a staggering 60% capsicum. To put this into context, a thousand ounces of pure raw pepper form 1-ounce of sizzling hot, potent plutonium.

If youre looking to simply spice your dinner, youll be going to the wrong place to get a drop of this into your plate.

Ashley Foods once again parades one of their revered arsenals in the hottest hot sauce league table. Anything with heat levels in the millions is a tool of warfare that can mercilessly ravage your mouth if handled carelessly.

At 5 million Scoville Heat Units, or 35% pure capsicum content, youre holding a barrel down your mouth anytime this stuff features on the menu. Just a drop of the Mad Dog 357 will transform your plate of food into a constant stream of lightning bolts on your palate.

Made from pepper extract and soybean oil, it delivers flavor with a sizzling twist.

Homemade Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce Recipe

  • First, heat your oven to 400 degrees. Set 8 ounces of Carolina Reaper peppers, 1 heat of garlic and halved onion on a baking sheet. Bake them for 15-20 minutes, or until the skins slightly char. Keep an eye on these. You dont want them to burn, and watch out for any fumes. You may want to turn on the oven fan and open some windows. See my safety notes below.
  • Add the peppers and onion to a food processor. Squeeze garlic out of their skins and into the food processor they go.
  • Add in the vinegar and salt. Process until you get a chunky mixture. Watch out for the fumes!
  • Add in a half cup of water and process again until the sauce starts to smooth out. Check it for thickness. If youd like a thinner sauce, add in a bit more water a little at a time, processing, until you reach your desired consistency.
  • If desired, you can strain the sauce to smooth it out, or use it as-is. If you do strain it, you can discard the pulp or dehydrate it to make a superhot seasoning powder.
  • Pour into sterilized bottles and enjoy. The longer you let it sit, the more the flavors will meld.
  • Thats it, my friends! This is pretty much the hottest sauce around. It will truly bring on the heat! Go for it, you crazy chilihead, you! I know you love cooking with hot peppers.

Pure heat, and perhaps a little of the devil him self! People love adding a bottle of the cool looking Satans Blood to their hot sauce collection, but its superior heat makes it a mega favorite as well. Its simpler than a complex sauce. A few small dabs bring the gobsmack of heat to any dish, but its simply chili extract and a little red wine vinegar in the mix. It doesnt mask your foods flavor like some other hot sauces.

    The 10 Hottest Chilli Sauces

The World’s Hottest Pepper Sauce Using Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and Ghost Peppers (Bhut Jolikia).

It seems that theres an obsession with heat when it comes to food you cant check your emails on Yahoo! without reading some story about how someone died eating the hottest pizza ever made or something similar. Not so long ago I was walking through Hoxton Square with a friend when his eyes lit up he had seen a spicy wings challenge advertised and insisted that we partake. Half an hour later, weve worked our way through half a wing and feeling terrible, yet this fixation with the hottest seems insurmountable. So for all you masochists out there, here are ten of the hottest chilli sauces around.

    10. Hot Headz! Trinidad Scorpion Hot Pepper Sauce

One of the simplest hot sauces around it uses the traditional Trinidadian Scorpion chilli peppers and is only available when the chillies are in season.

    9. Sauce Crafters Inc. Satans Blood

A great name but not necessarily the tastiest of sauces it is nevertheless fires of hell hot.

    8. Ass Blaster Hot Sauce

There have been reports of people hearing Ring of Fire in their head for days after consuming this intestine busting stuff. Seriously though, only for those with concrete stomachs.

    7. 10 Minute Burn Extreme Chilli Sauce

This sauce has now been superseded by the 20 Minute Burn , but is still vicious in its own way. When it was first premiered people who tried it passed out and it was banned from a fiery foods festival for being too hot!

How Long Will This Hot Sauce Keep

It should keep a few months easily in the fridge, or even longer. Its all about the acidity. To be technical, target level ph for shelf stable foods is below 4.6 ph, but should probably be lower for home cooks, around 4.0 or so, to account for errors.

I have not measured the ph of this sauce, but I wont have it around very long anyway. If youre concerned, add more vinegar to lower the ph.

Will This Be The Hottest Hot Sauce In The World

In lieu of National Hot Sauce Day, the folks over at High River Sauces teamed up with Thrillist and General Electric , to create an extremely hot hot sauce. Due early this spring, the limited run of 1000 units will be sold exclusively on Thrillist.

Will this be the hottest sauce in the world? I dont think so. The sauce will be made with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Peppers that rank around 2,000,000 SHU on The Scoville Scale for peppers. While its no extract sauce, its still going to burn like hell.

The most interesting thing about this sauce is the technology being incorporated into the packaging by GE. Though not mentioned specifically Im speculating the bottle and the packaging are going to be pretty bad ass. They are made out of the same materials used in jet engines after all.

      From Thrillist:

The project marries Thrillists fiery fanaticism with GEs next-gen know-how: theyve devoted over 3000 scientists to the study of advanced materials that can withstand nearly 3000 degrees, revolutionizing jet engines, locomotives, and turbines .

Will this set a bar for how hot sauces are created? I mean, using a team of Americas finest thermodynamic minds, to create a hot sauce sounds pretty incredible. Its always exciting to see something new on the market.
