Hot Ones The Classic 1800 Scovilles
As the new number-one sauce from the series, meaning the first sauce to start off the conversation and heat scale, it uses the Chile de Arbol pepper, which promises complex and fresh flavours.
Grown by Smokin Ed Currie from Puckerbutt Pepper Co., it can be used liberally on wings or whatever dish you like, offering more of a tang than a bold hit of hotness. In addition to the pepper, it includes some apple cider vinegar, rice vinegar, water, garlic, turmeric, and salt, and uses mainly organic ingredients.
How Hot Is 16 Million Scoville
Pure Capsaicin has a heat rating of around 16 million Scoville Units, which is the greatest degree of heat that can be achieved. This unit is named after pharmacist Wilbur Scoville, who in 1912 devised an accurate technique to determine how hot chilies were by measuring the amount of Capsaicin contained in them .

Tabasco Hot Sauce 2500 Shus
Another household staple is Tabasco Brand hot sauce. They make a variety of new flavors, branching out from their original recipe, but the original is truly special.
Tabasco can bring a bland meal to life with just a few small dashes. Just three ingredients go into this sauce zingy vinegar, red pepper and salt. The proportions work just right for sandwiches, pizza and pretty much anything else.
The heat level is stepped up a bit for Tabasco, reaching a claimed 2,500-5,000 SHUs on the Scoville scale, depending on the batch. This is tolerable to most but is noticeably spicier than Franks.

Hottest Hot Sauces In The World
Mankind has been heating up its meals with hot sauce for generations. In fact, experts agree that hot sauce goes back as far as Mayan times. However, just a mixture of peppers and water, the first sauces were far simpler and would be unrecognizable by todays standards.
The contemporary bottle of hot sauce didnt come until years later, however it was still quite some time ago. The first commercially available bottled sauces in America appeared in Massachusetts all the way back in 1807.
However, while the bottled sauces would certainly resemble the contemporary bottle of hot sauce, their flavor would be mild by todays standards. It wasnt until much later, when people began breeding pepper plants that hot sauce started to get really spicy. By the late 1980s, mankind had descended into a full blown arms race for extreme chili breeding. Unsurprisingly, this has resulted in the birth of dangerously spicy peppers, such as the Carolina Reaper and the infamous Pepper X, and even spicier hot sauces.
Were talking sauces made with peppers so unnaturally far off the Scoville charts, that they need warning labels just to be put on shelves.

Its really, extremely spicy. The spiciness, on the other hand, does not overshadow the excellent, robust flavor. The Last Dab Reduxx has a Scoville value of 2,000,000 SHUs or more, making it one of the most potent marijuana strains available. Thanks to the Pepper X Peppers that make up the majority of the sauce and have been tested at more than 3 million SHUs, this is possible.
Henrys Hot Sauce Carolina Reaper
Scoville units: ~1 millionPeppers used: Carolina Reaper
Unlike a lot of these other hot sauces that seem to come from the mind of a slightly insane dude working from his kitchen, Henrys Hot Sauce is courtesy of an honest-to-god Virginia pepper farm. There, in the Shenandoah Valley, is apparently located the most limestone-rich soil for growing the most perfect hot peppersones the Henry family has cultivated from the world over. No surprise, Henrys sauces use 100% homegrown peppers , and are usually based around one single pepper varietal, like Carolina Reaper, their most extreme offering. Buy it here.
Note: if you go to Henryâs website youâll see Carolina Reaper listed as âlimited edition.â This is mainly because making sauces with 100% your own ingredients leads to small batches, not because these products are of the only-100-bottles-made-then-gone-forever nature.

Dawsons Original Hot Sauce 82000 Shus
As things heat up, the brands become less well-known. However, Dawsons creates some of the most delectable hot sauces out there, and their Original sauce is among them. We find some of the best sauces are simple, and this one is no exception.
The distinction here is that this hot sauce uses habanero peppers as the first ingredient. If you know about habaneros, youll understand why this brings significantly more heat than the first few sauces on our list. Read our full review of Dawsons Original hot sauce here.
Dawsons takes a significant leap up on the Scoville scale. This hot sauce comes in around 82,000 SHUs on the scale, meaning it is significantly hotter than the stuff you can buy at the store. It also comes at a much higher price tag, but we think it is well worth the price for the premium ingredients and the beautiful design and appearance.
Why Is Da Bomb So Spicy
She goes on to say that Da Bomb is actually more of an addition than a spicy sauce, which is why its so explosive: You could season an entire pot of chili with only a few drops, she explains. A 4-ounce bottle of the sauce sells for $11 on the website spicinfoods.com. It has a Scoville heat rating of 135,600, which is the highest possible rating on a scale that assesses the intensity of spicy foods.

Dont let the promise of sweet pineapple fool you: this sauce, from the San Francisco Bay company, is hot, hot, hot. Combining pineapple with a host of other ingredients including honey and lime juice, its the dried red chilies that really spice this sauce up.
Youll also get tastes of earthiness thanks to toasted onion and sesame seeds. But combine the heat with the sour lime, pungent mustard, and sweet pineapple, and it will be a burst of flavours in your mouth.
How Long Will This Hot Sauce Keep
It should keep a few months easily in the fridge, or even longer. It’s all about the acidity. To be technical, target level ph for shelf stable foods is below 4.6 ph, but should probably be lower for home cooks, around 4.0 or so, to account for errors.
I have not measured the ph of this sauce, but I won’t have it around very long anyway. If you’re concerned, add more vinegar to lower the ph.

Dragon In The Clouds 1000000 Shus
Moving into the 7-digit SHU level of heat, the unique Hot Ones / 88 Rising collaboration brought us Dragon In The Clouds in 2019. This hot sauce is unique, but also bizarre and difficult to pair with food. It is brutally spicy thanks to Ghost chiles, and has a bitter, citrusy zest from yuzu.
Basically, we tried the sauce, and that was about the end of its use. Weve heard from some readers that they enjoy the unique flavor, but it just wasnt for us. Especially considering the aggressive heat.
Dragon In The Clouds hot sauce is no joke. Though we have been unable to find an official heat level for the sauce, we assume it comes in right around the 1 million SHU mark on the Scoville scale. Given that the first ingredient is ghost pepper, the sauce most likely hits that mark. It sure feels like it does
Shaquandas Hot Pepper 10100 Scovilles
Representing a massive jump in Scovilles from the level 2 sauce, this one, the third in the line-up on the latest season, combines scotch bonnet with habanero peppers to provide an island flare inspired by Barbados flavours through ingredients like ginger, turmeric, mustard, and lemon.
Ideal for marinades for chicken and fish as well, or for spicing up your lunch sandwich, it adds more spice through chili peppers and horseradish, as well as some sweetness via demerara sugar.

This Guest Couldn’t Make It To The Finish Line
Just because the desire to plow through all 10 wings burns in each guest, not all have what it takes, and some find themselves holding a not-so-coveted spot in the Hot Ones Hall of Shame. DJ Khaled, comedian Mike Epps, rapper Yayo, and several others forever hang in the metaphorical Hall, but there’s another who might surprise you…
After the eighth and Mad Dog 357-doused wing, comedian Jim Gaffigan threw in the towel. You might think, “Why? He only had two to go,” but alas, it was two too many. This, coming from a guy who builds many of his comedy routines on his love of food, was a shocker.
Evans, feeling an obligation to continue eating while asking the last few questions, endured the last two. Surprisingly, Gaffigan wasn’t choking down milk and wiping sweat from his face like one might expect from a person who admits defeat from a Scoville onslaught. However, he made it as far as his body allowed, and he still left with his dignity intact .
Can Hot Sauce Kill You
It is possible to overdose on capsaicin, the chemical that makes chili peppers hot. However, the only way you can die from eating hot sauce is if the sauce if sufficiently hot and you eat it in sufficient quantity.
A study performed in 1980 calculated that it would take consuming 3 pounds of superhot pepper powder to kill a person weighing 150 pounds. It is highly unlikely anyone could consume that amount, as their body would react before reaching such a limit.
There have been reports of people ending up in the hospital in extreme situations after eating superhot chili peppers, particularly those with previous medical conditions.
There is also the story of a man who burned a hole in his esophagus from eating super hot peppers, but that was from vomiting, not from the peppers themselves.
While it is true that eating extremely hot peppers and hot sauces can cause vomiting, nausea and stomach pain, the reality is that they cannot tear or burn through any of your body parts.

Is The Last Dab The Hottest Sauce
The Last Dab: Apollo is the hottest hot sauce on Hot Ones. It’s called The Last Dab because Sean Evans and Hot Ones guests traditionally add an extra dab to the 10th and final spicy wing to close out the interview. The Last Dab: Apollo is one of the only sauces in the world to feature The Apollo Pepper, a special chili bred by Smokin’ Ed Currie. Smokin’ Ed’s other proprietary peppers like the Carolina Reaper and Pepper X are predecessors of The Apollo Pepper. If you want to take on the full 10 wing hot sauce lineup with The Last Dab: Apollo and see if your heat tolerance holds up to Hot Ones guests’ eating spicy wings, grab the Season 18 Hot Ones 10 Pack.

So then, what is the hottest hot sauce on the market? The most extreme heat you can buy?
This pepper extract is one of the hottest and purest in the entire world. If you just want a little heat in your food, this is NOT the extract for you. This little bottle is for the true aficionado of heat, the one who wants to test the limits, to see how explosive pepper heat can be. Blow something up at supper tonight. But use caution because this sauce is almost lethally spicy.
How Much Is The Last Dab Reduxx
The Last Dab Redux is $20 for one 5oz bottle, and while this may seem a little expensive, its actually a great value. This is because its so potent and flavorful that you need to use far less of it to achieve amazing results.
This makes it much more economical than weaker sauces, meaning it can last many months depending on how hot you like your food and how liberally you apply the sauce!
