Do I Have To Salt The Pasta Water
YES! Its that simple. Always salt the pasta water with kosher salt. WHY? Because as pasta cooks it absorbs the water, right? By cooking pasta in salted water you are infusing the pasta with seasoning to enhance the flavor of the pasta. Salting the pasta water adds another layer of flavor to your dish, so always salt the pasta water.
Can I Use Frozen Seafood
Yes! Most of the time, I purchase frozen shrimp and crab legs. Sometimes- it’s cheaper, or just easier to find. Most frozen seafood is fully cooked, and then frozen.
Keep that in mind and adjust cooking times accordingly. If it is pre-cooked, cut the cooking time by 5-10 minutes. Try to get the jumbo shrimp w/ shell on if you’re buying frozen. It tends to stay juicy and plump!

How To Store Garlic Butter Sauce
Your Garlic Butter is best if served as soon as its ready but I get it.sometimes you do need to prep ahead. Even the little things.
To store your garlic butter sauce, simply transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. When you want to serve your sauce, reheat either in the microwave at 30 second increments, stirring after each OR transfer the butter sauce to a saucepan and heat over low heat until melted and warm.
Garlic Butter Sauce will last in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. I do not recommend freezing garlic butter sauce because the texture will get all weird, grainy and gross.

It’s All About The Butter
After that comes the butter. There’s a lot of butter in this sauce which is why it tastes so good! But to incorporate the butter without having the sauce break, you have to do it slowly. Just whisk in a couple tablespoons at a time.
Then stir in some lemon juice, add some salt and white pepper, and you are ready to serve!
The sauce is perfect for fish and seafood, or simply tossed with pasta.
Need to make ahead? Just chill until you need it, and reheat on the stovetop or heat in the microwave for a few seconds until it loosens and warms up.

Garlic Butter Sauce Ingredients

Dairy: I used unsalted butter, but you can use ghee or salted butter if you prefer.
Pro tip: I recommend unsalted butter so you can control the saltiness of the sauce. If you have salted butter, that is fine too, you just might want to use less salt later.
Herbs & spices: garlic, freshly chopped parsley, fresh cracked black pepper, and salt. I recommend using fresh herbs and spices to bring out the best flavor possible.
You can also swap out the herbs for different flavors. I love making a basil butter sauce with fresh chopped basil. If you want to make a lemon butter sauce, just add fresh squeezed lemon juice right before serving.
Pro tip: try adding a few red pepper flakes for a little heat.
Wine: For this recipe I recommend using a dry white wine like a Sauvignon Blanc or a Pinot Gris.

So, how to make garlic butter sauce for pasta that tis thick and creamy? You will need to add in flour and milk. The flour helps to thicken it, but it doesnt do any favours for the taste. The problem with using flour is that it can kill the flavour, but the good news is that garlic sauce is so potent that its flavour wont be hurt too badly by the addition of some flour. You can add about a tablespoon of flour to your garlic sauce and a cup of milk. Whisk all that together until the flour is completely combined. This will make your sauce thicker than it was before.
