How To Make A Pork Stir Fry:

Making a stir fry is a very simple process.

First, youll need to slice your pork thinly, and across the grain if possible. If you look closely at your pork chops, youll see they have faint lines running in one direction, like the grain on a piece of wood. For the most tender pieces, youll want to slice ACROSS that grain, not with it.

Next youll be cooking the pork in a bit of oil over a high heat. Dont cook it too long, or itll be tough. After you remove the pork slices from the pan, add a bit more oil.

Cook your aromatics for just a few seconds, then add the veggies until theyre tender, but still retaining their color and some crispness.

Add your sauce to the pan and cook until it thickens a bit, then add your pork back in the skillet. If youre using noodles, add them during this step and toss it all together.

Yes, you heard me right.

We are using frozen vegetables in this recipe.

You all know I love a good shortcut! I use them in this recipe as well as in my Asian Cabbage Salad recipe!

Frozen stir fry vegetables are readily available in the supermarket and come in a variety of combinations. I used a Birds Eye brand variety shown here.

I figure it saved me about a hour worth of veggie washing, peeling and chopping. And, frozen vegetables are just as healthy as frozen.

Whats not to like??

Pork tenderloin cooks quickly. First were slicing it in half lengthwise, then cutting it crosswise to get bite size pieces.

The pork pieces cook nice and fast, and then well remove them to get the veggies cooking.

Pork Stir Fry Ingredients:

Pork Sirloin Youll need about 1 pound. Can also use tenderloin, chopped center cut pork chops, or pork loin.

Vegetables We used fresh broccoli and bell peppers, but carrots, cauliflower, green beans, sugar snap peas, and baby corn are all great options.

Sauce Soy sauce, hoisin sauce, vinegar, honey, chili paste, ginger, , and garlic make for a simple but flavorful sauce.

Yes, you can freeze this dish. I would recommend using airtight Ziploc bags or containers and freezing up to two months. Be aware that some of the veggies might be a little softer than when you made this dish originally. Because this happens, I sometimes make a fresh batch of the cabbage to add to the Hoisin pork and vegetables after they are thawed and cooked. It still saves time, but it gives it a fresher taste than just straight out of the freezer.

How To Make Pork Stir Fry:

To begin, whisk all of the ingredients for the stir fry sauce together, then set aside. Next, heat the sesame oil in a large non stick frying pan or wok. Add the pork and quickly brown it on all sides, about 5 minutes.

While the meat cooks, place the broccoli in a bowl or jug then pour boiling water over it. Drain and add to the pan. Add the stir fry sauce to the centre of the pan, bring to a simmer then stir through the pork and broccoli.

Keep stirring the dish over a medium heat until the sauce has thickened and the pork is cooked all the way through. Serve immediately on top of steamed rice with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

My whole family loves this recipe so much. Using pork tenderloin is a great way to add some protein to your diet it is comparable to chicken breasts in protein and fat content. It also contains a number of vitamins and minerals that are part of a healthy diet.
