Paleo Chicken Stir Fry

Quick, easy and delicious, this Paleo Chicken Stir Fry is sweet, spicy, sour and bitter. Try it on its own or over cauliflower rice.

If youre a fan of Asian food I have a feeling youll love this Paleo Chicken Stir Fry. It has those spicy, sweet, sour and bitter flavours that Asian cuisine is known for but is rendered healthy by using mindful, natural ingredients. It also happens to be easy and quick, which makes it perfect for a weeknight dinner!

I learned a long time ago that when it comes to stir-fries, the secret is to have all of your meat, veggies and sauce prepared before you start cooking. Its also very important to have the cooking heat turned way up high. Low heat will cause things to steam in the pan and thats not the flavour we want to build here.

The Ballarini Rialto Frying Pan is absolutely perfect for this recipe. It can handle high heat cooking. The heat is well distributed throughout the pan, resulting in even cooking. The 12.5diameter provides extra surface area to cook things quickly and is large enough to handle a family-sized meal. I also love to serve dinner straight from the pan so it helps to have one that is presentable!

In case you didnt know, Ive partnered with Ballarini Canada to give away one of these pans to a lucky Primal Gourmet reader. . I think youll love it!

Sticky Teriyaki Sauce: Arrowroot Flour

Keto Teriyaki Sauce: No Soy, Organic, Non

The key to chicken teriyaki is a decadent, sticky sauce that coats every bit of the chicken. In this recipe, it is Arrowroot flour.

Arrowroot flour is a paleo-friendly starch that will lightly gel up the liquid when heated.

Therefore, it is important to whisk/dissolve the arrowroot flour in the teriyaki sauce. It will take a minute or two for the sauce to thicken once heated.

How To Make: Paleo Beef Stir Fry

No Soy Teriyaki Sauce & Marinade

This stir fry is super easy to make and is ready in under 30 minutes. Making it can be broken up into two parts: the beef and the veg.

The beef: slice your beef into thin strips. The thinner you slice the faster it cooks and the crispier it can get. Toss it in a little bit of sesame oil and coconut aminos. The coconut aminos here are used in place where youd normally use soy sauce if youre alright eating soy then feel free to use that here instead. Let the beef marinated for about 10 minutes before tossing in a little bit of tapioca flour. Once done all you need to do is gently fry for a few minutes let the beef crips up and then remove from the pan while you start working on the veggies/sauce.

The veggies: After removing the beef from your pan add you veggies. We use broccoli and pepper here but you can mix and match with whatever veggies youve got on hand. Add the ginger, garlic and chili pepper and cook for a couple more minutes before adding the beef back to the pan along with the remaining coconut aminos. Drizzle over a spoonful of honey to sweeten and toss it all together. Taste and season with a little salt and pepper as needed. Personally when it comes to beef I go a little heavy handed with the black pepper because I think they were made for each other.

This recipe is so easy, its as simple as combining all of the ingredients and mixing them together. I like to make stir fry sauce in a jar that has a tight-fitting lid. Then you can just shake the jar up to easily mix the ingredients together. You can also make the sauce in a small bowl and mix it using a whisk.

As someone who spends most of her time thinking about, preparing, and consuming food, I recognize the importance of the five mother sauces. Just thinking about them right now makes me want to eat a spoonful of hollandaise but I am not a professional chef at a quaint tiny bistro in Provençe, whisking up Velouté on a daily basis. But I do make and serve this Stir Fry Sauce on-the-regular.

Consider this most home cooks will make their own roux from scratch, but settle for buying stir fry sauce in a jar because, well, stir fry sauce is readily available in jars andI cant even think about pre-prepared roux without shuddering.

Im going to go out on a limb and say if you are even the slightest bit health conscious, and you looked closely at the ingredients in most shelf-stable Asian-inspired sauces at the grocery store, youd shudder as much as you would at the thought of store-bought roux. Between the sugars, starches, and chemical preservativeswell, it aint good for you.
