You are simply not going to believe how easy this low carb sugar free BBQ sauce is. I cant even believe it and Ive been making it for a few weeks. Every time I make it, I think to myself that the last time must have been a fluke. That maybe I am dreaming, that nothing THIS easy can be THIS good.

But it is. Every time. This truly is the easiest and best low carb BBQ sauce Ive ever tried. That includes my own homemade versions and the store-bought versions too. And the funny part is, I whipped it up one evening when I was in a hurry, just trying to find a quick sauce to add to our pulled pork. I didnt expect much from it, so when I tasted it, I was stunned.

It was so good, I had to write down the ingredients as quickly as possible. And then I had to try making it it again and again, to make sure I wasnt dreaming.

How To Make Keto Barbecue Sauce

This keto bbq sauce is a cinch to make at home. Essentially you just sauté the onion and garlic until it is soft and opaque then reduce the sauce until it is thick and saucy. It doesnt take long nor is it complicated.

I have include how to make the keto bbq sauce in a Thermomix as well. The sauce still comes together beautifully it just takes a little longer to cook than on the stove.

Simple Girl Carolina Kick Bbq Sauce

Simple Girl is a St. Louis-based, charity-lovin’, organic, sugar-free and low-fat food company creating healthy dressings, sauces and seasonings.

In my opinion, the flavor is slightly spicy, slightly smoky and a tad sweet.

Also, the one I had, was quite thin from the texture. Not sure if it’s like that or I was just a “lucky winner” of a bad batch.

For this keto friendly low carb BBQ sauce recipe we chose to use Lakanto brand gold sweetener. Lakanto is a brand of monkfruit based sweetener and products. I use a variety of sweetener brands and types in my recipes, it really depends on what it is. A lot of kitchen testing goes in to selecting the right type. For this sauce we felt the Lakanto Gold, brown sugar substitute, tasted best, however you can use whatever you like.

It’s gluten-free, fat-free and contains 1 gram of sugar per serving . Now don’t get sacred it is still keto-friendly. The goal is to stay under 20 grams of net carbs per day.

As the name implies, it’s sweetened with keto-friendly Stevia and has 2 grams of net carbs per serving.

There are two flavors: the regular one and the spicy one. I tried the first one which gave the chicken a nice flavor.

Like all my essential sauce recipes, from my Carolina-gold mustard-based sauce to my Vinegar-based bbq sauce, this Keto bbq sauce recipe is a great option for anyone looking for an easy fix. .

Start by whisking the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire, and syrup in a pot over low heat on the stove. Keep the heat set to low, or medium-low as it tends to bubble up.

  • Add the liquids.
  • Add the spices.

Continue to whisk and stir in the erythritol or your sugar substitute of choice, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and chili powder.

Stir and let simmer with gentle bubbles for about 10 minutes until the erythritol has dissolved and the sauce is smooth.

  • Stir to combine.
  • Allow to simmer.

Remove the sauce from the heat and then whisk in the butter, one tablespoon at a time. This works to thicken the recipe and make is smooth and creamy.
