What Is Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauce

This is a secret weapon in the kitchen! Its packed with sooo much flavor and its a really cheap ingredient to buy. You can find it in the international section of your grocery store, typically labeled as Hispanic Foods. Theyre sold in cans or jars like this brand that can be found in Targets. Inside the can, theres chipotle peppers and adobo sauce. We will only be using the adobo sauce in this recipe. You can use the chipotle peppers in a dish or sauce that you want to impart a spicy and smokey flavor in.

Besides marinading meat, I love using the adobo sauce to make a chipotle sauce. I just mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, adobo sauce, chili powder, and some honey. Try it out!

How To Make Corn Tortillas From Scratch

We are going to make our own tacos too. The tacos will be 100 times better than the rubber tacos you buy in the store and the corn tortillas are also easy to make. After you have made and learned to make tortillas, you will never buy store bought again. No taco press? No problem. A book works just as well as a taco press.

Some Other Ways To Eat This Authentic Mexican Chicken Tinga:

Tostadas: These are crispy corn tortillas. Tostadas are a sturdy base for various Mexican toppings and very easy to find in grocery stores.

Traditional tostadas start with a layer of refried beans. Add chicken tinga, then top with shredded lettuce, avocado, or radishes slices. Crumbled cheese, Mexican crema, and salsa work well too.

Tortas: French-style bread is used in Mexico to make sandwiches since the 1800s. The sandwiches are called tortas. The bread is called bolillos.

Slice the bread in half horizontally, spread refried beans on each side, add chicken tinga, a thick slice of cheese, avocado and tomato slices, pickled jalapenos, etc.

Wrap the sandwich and take it with you for a hearty lunch or on the go.

Tacos with corn tortillas: Warm up the tortillas first. There are 2 ways to do that: warm up the tortillas in a skillet, then cover them with a clean towel until ready to serve.

The other way is to place them directly over a gas flame to char them a little bit. Again, place them on a plate and cover them with a clean towel. Tacos made with tinga this way are called tacos de guisado, very popular in Mexico, usually made out of different home-style dishes.

Can I Freeze This Chipotle Chicken Recipe

Absolutely. In fact, its one of our very favorite things about this recipe. We recommend making a double batch and freezing the grilled, chopped chicken in freezer-safe bags or containers for later use. Individual portions are great for those living solo, and larger freezer portions make family weeknight meals a breeze. Store cooked chicken in the freezer for up to four months.

To reheat, simply add the frozen chicken to a large skillet over medium heat with a half-cup of water. Cover with a lid and let cook, stirring occasionally until the chicken is heated through. If the chicken begins to dry out before its fully heated, add a little more water to the pan to keep it moist while it warms.

Can I Freeze Leftover Chicken Tinga

    Creamy Chipotle Chicken Recipe

Yes, you can. Any cooked chicken tinga leftovers can be placed in the freezer and used later. It would be good for up to 3 months.

If you want to freeze uncooked tinga, I would make the salsa in the blender separately, freeze, then just cook the chicken on the day you want to serve it. Another option would be to make it quickly with roasted chicken.

I would not add the onions to the blender as the beauty of this dish is the texture of sliced onions and chicken mixed with the salsa.

If your looking for a simple and easy way to spice up your sandwiches or dipping sauces, youve come to the right place! My favorite subway sandwich sauce is the southwestern chipotle sauce. I tried it once on a tuna sandwich and thats it I became hooked! Since then Ive never ever ordered a subway sandwich without it.

I love subways and all but I do most of my cooking at home. But that sauce! If I can get my hands on it at home I would be dreaming.

So a few months ago I began experimenting and experimenting for weeks until I came up without my very own chipotle sauce. Now its not exactly like the subways chipotle sauce, its better!

I added my own little twist on it, added some fresh cilantro, spiced it up a little more, and BAM! Its a kick of southwestern goodness in a jar!

You can use this sauce on all different types of sandwiches, on salads, as a dip, or mix it with shredded chicken and make chipotle chicken sandwiches or wraps like I did with my award winning chipotle chicken grilled cheese sandwich.

Grab a small bowl and combine one-half cup of mayo and a teaspoon of chipotle sauce. Carli says that if you want even more spice, you can add another teaspoon of chipotle to the mixture. Stir well to combine the ingredients.

If you must, try a tiny dab with your finger but be sure to keep enough for your sandwich. Set the sauce aside and get ready to assemble the sandwich.

I just made this very tasty baked chipotle chicken. Its got a bite! Its very flavorful. When it came out of the oven, the kitchen smelled like a Mexican restaurant and my husband said mmm, something smells good! Its a little hot, which I love, but some folks should take note of the fact that the chipotles in adobo sauce and the amount of chili powder will do that. Its just perfect for my taste. Congrats on a simple and very good recipe. I wouldnt change a thing for myself. I marinaded it for about 18 hours. Very very good! Mary

I halved the batch and wish I wouldnt have done that. I ate what was supposed to be two servings as one meal. The flavor was excellent, and the meat was moist. Another plus was the minimal prep time. Ive added this recipe to my dinner rotation. Jennifer
