Once the sauce has started to thicken, add in the salt and pepper to taste. Serve the sauce hot over your favorite meats, veggies, or seafood or mix it into you favorite low carb or regular pasta.

Why Do You Warm the Heavy Cream?

Cold cream can separate if added to heat when cold. You should warm it gently either on the stove top over low heat, for a few seconds in the microwave, or allow it to come to room temperature on the counter top. Using room temperature cream will help prevent separation.

How Can I Thicken Alfredo Sauce Without Flour

If you arent using flour or cornstarch, how can you thicken keto alfredo sauce? Cheese! Mascarpone, cream cheese, parmesan–these will all thicken it right up! Since we are using butter and heavy cream, the sauce is already much thicker without any of the extra additions.

Alternative low carb thickeners include coconut flour, xantham gum, or guar gum. Just be careful using these ingredients to thicken sauces! While they are all low in carbs, a little goes a long way. Adding too much coconut flour will dry things out and result in a clumpy texture, while the gums can become rubbery and sticky in excess. Little by little is the name of the game with these types of ingredients.

Performer One: Keto Alfredo Sauce

Keto Alfredo Sauce Recipe [Dairy

I began the performance by pulling out the essential ingredients I would need for a traditional Alfredo sauce:

  • Cream Cheese
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper

I wanted traditional because I hadnt had a good Alfredo sauce in a while and the subtly of a traditional sauce would play the perfect pairing with the heavily seasoned blackened shrimp! In any musical composition, its important to know who will be performing by your side so you can work your own strengths as well as the strengths of the second performer! I not only knew the second performer well, but I also knew how he worked in the kitchen and what he had planned for the shrimp, and this made my job a whole lot easier.

I added the ingredients to the saucepan one-by-one allowing each to incorporate into one another and tasting several times along the way. Its always important to taste your dishes prior to serving, especially sauces because they will likely be the centerpiece of your dish coating everything in sight! After letting the sauce reduce down, I had achieved perfection! I turned the heat down to simmer and patiently watched Matthews performance.

Can I Use A Different Veggie In This Easy Keto Chicken Alfredo Bake

Keto Diet Recipes: Easy Keto Alfredo Sauce

It is super easy to sub in a different low carb veggie you prefer in place of broccoli in this keto chicken alfredo. Here are a couple of ideas if you need inspiration:

  • asparagus
  • cauliflower
  • mushrooms

I prefer the texture of popping the Keto Chicken Alfredo Bake in the oven so that the mozzarella cheese browns nicely. You could continue to simmer until the cheese melts on top if youd like, but make sure not to put a lid on the skillet as the water droplets from condensation would cause the alfredo sauce to thin.

For a simple one-dish meal, you can serve this creamy and delicious low carb Chicken Alfredo Bake as is or with one of the low carb pasta alternatives listed below. I would also add a nice leafy garden salad to serve alongside. If you miss bread, cheesy garlic chaffles would be fantastic as a low carb sub to garlic bread.

How Many Net Carbs In Alfredo Sauce

Alfredo sauce is generally low in carbs, but you might find ingredients you avoid like wheat or flour in commercially made brands. Typically alfredo sauce has approx 3-4 carbs. This particular recipe for Keto Chicken Alfredo with Broccoli has 5 net carbs in an entire serving, which includes the carbs from the broccoli as well.

How To Store Leftover Pasta Sauce

Let the alfredo cool completely, then pour it into an airtight container. I like to use mason jars, because it is so easy to pour out the sauce when you are ready to use it. You can keep the alfredo in the fridge for up to 4 or 5 days.

I dont like to freeze any sauce with cream or milk, because it tends to separate when it thaws. But if you must, you can freeze it for up to two months.

If it seperates when it thaws, whisk it vigorously. If that doesnt work, you can use an immersion blender , to get it smooth again.

How To Make Keto Chicken Alfredo

Keto friendly/low carb pasta salad, Alfredo, cheese sauce recipe ideas

A great chicken alfredo begins with the keto alfredo sauce, and weve certainly covered those bases. But what can you use in place of fettuccine noodles? Great question!

Zucchini noodles, or any other keto vegetables cut into thin ribbons, can be a great replacement to make keto chicken alfredo. A spiralizer tool makes the process effortless!

Another great low carb alternative to consider using is shirataki noodles. These are translucent noodles made of konjac and packed in water. They are mostly flavorless when rinsed, taking on the flavors they are cooked in. They come in different shapes as well to mimic the look and texture of the noodles we are used to cooking with–spaghetti, fettuccine, etc.

Shirataki noodles are a popular option for keto dieters since they have zero net carbs. Remember, net carbs = total carbs – fiber. Net carbs are the ones that directly impact metabolism and ketosis. As shirataki noodles are made almost entirely of fiber, they dont affect nutritional ketosis. That also means they are low in calories and can be great for people on a weight loss mission.

There are a variety of brands available, including Miracle Noodle, Nasoya Pasta Zero, and Organic Well Lean. While the Nasoya Pasta Zero shirataki noodles can be easily found at local grocery stores like Safeway, Miracle Noodles and Organic Well Lean are typically only ordered online through specialty stores or on Amazon.
