Tips For Hosting Sunday Supper

Sunday supper is one of my favorite meals. I love getting my family and friends together to share a meal and connect. We spend most of our week running from activity to activity so its nice to have a meal where we can slow down and enjoy the food and company.

Have company over for dinner, however, can feel like a big undertaking. We feel pressured to pull out all of the stops and make a big fancy meal. But it doesnt have to be that way.

This Shrimp Alfredo recipe is a meal that seems like you fussed when really, it only takes 15 minutes. Make a quick and easy, but incredibly delicious recipe, helps to make it fun and relaxing it was to host family or friends for a Sunday Supper.

How Do You Make Chicken Alfredo Broccoli Bake Casserole

Ragú® Classic Alfredo has a delicious taste your whole family will love. I used Ragú® Classic Alfredo and made my own spin on their Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo recipe. I turned it into a casserole dish to thicken it all up.

Both my older kids helped me cook. My oldest, Miss Em, cooked the pasta.

I had her add the frozen broccoli straight in with the pasta to cook it at the same time.

I keep grilled chicken slices in the freezer for quick and easy meals, so I decided to use that instead of raw chicken breasts. Its already cooked and sliced! I heated the chicken up for about a minute and then added the Alfredo sauce. After it started boiling, I let it simmer on low while the pasta and broccoli continued cooking.

Instead of 9-10 minutes, I cooked the fettuccine just 8 minutes and drained it with the broccoli. I didnt want either to get mushy while it was baking. Once drained, I added it straight back in the hot pot without rinsing.

Next, I poured the sauce and chicken into the pasta and mix. Then, added it to a 9 x 13 casserole dish.

I sprinkled Parmesan cheese all over the top and baked it at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. I turned on the broiler for the last 3-5 minutes. Then, I let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving while we set the table.

Directions For How To Make Jar Alfredo Sauce Better

Im sure there are plenty of ways to do this, but Ive found this to be the easiest way. Feel free to switch out the ingredients to ones you prefer.

I believe that the best flavors are the ones you and your family like. I also highly recommend choosing just a few of the above ingredients to test the first few times.

Pour the jar of Alfredo sauce into a medium saucepan and turn the burner to medium-high heat. As soon as you see a couple of bubbles, turn it down to medium-low heat.

Now start adding the ingredients you like. I highly recommend sautéing the onions if you choose chopped onions as one of the ingredients because that brings out the flavor.

I used all dried seasonings because thats what I had. But if you have access to fresh ingredients, I highly recommend using those.

My pepper mill is still packed , so I used already ground pepper. Fresh ground pepper is much better. Or you can use white pepper.

I added chopped chicken that I cooked earlier to make chicken Alfredo. If you dont have fresh cooked chicken, you can use the canned version. After its added to the cream sauce with the other ingredients, you probably wont be able to tell the difference.

As you add ingredients, you may want to turn the burner up to medium heat to keep the sauce hot. After everything has been added and the flavors have blended, its time to serve it.

While the pasta was baking and we waited for our guests to arrive, we had a dance party! Now, this is how to have a Saucesome party!

Grandma and Grandpa were the first to show up. That was a good thing since Grandma was bringing the plates and utensils!

She helped me set the table quickly since everyone was getting hungry. We topped the meal off with Italian salad, garlic bread, and Miss Mollys favorite fruits pineapple and watermelon.

We always have a good time when family comes over, and adding our favorite pasta made it even Saucesome! The kids were excited and in the silliest moods!

Next, GrandBea and Aunt Crystal showed up with the garlic bread. Then, it was time to eat, and we all had a deliciously Saucesome meal! The Chicken Broccoli Alfredo Bake was a huge hit with everyone, especially the kids. It was so popular, the next day I had to make a second batch because there werent any leftovers!

After lunch, it was time for cake, ice cream, and present opening. Miss Molly could not wait for the birthday song to end before she blew the candles out which cracked everyone up. Then, she loved all her gifts, especially her new bear.

After all that, we had fun visiting with everyone. Aunt Crystal even put together Mollys new tent for her dolls.

    What Is Blackening Seasoning

You dont need to be a chef or own a restaurant to make this Blackened Chicken Alfredo! It all starts with the seasonings. Blackening seasoning is associated with Cajun or Creole cooking. It is a robust blend of herbs and spices resulting in a smoky, spicy, earthy, flavor.

The red appearance is from the smoked paprika and cayenne pepper. Please do NOT substitute smoked paprika with regular paprika the smokiness is everything.

You can find smoked paprika with the rest of the spices at your grocery store. I use it in ALL my Mexican recipes, so I promise your purchase will not go to waste. The rest of the blackening seasoning is a mix of common pantry seasonings you probably have on hand already. You can also customize the heat by using more or less cayenne pepper.

Creamy Fettuccine Cauliflower Alfredo is absolutely rich and bursting with flavor, gluten-free, and a healthier recipe of a classic comfort food dish!

Creamy Fettuccine Cauliflower Alfredo is one of those recipes you say really?

And I can tell you, really. This sauce is so close to the higher fat version filled with butter and cream, you really cant tell! But, since this recipe it is made with healthy ingredients like c-a-u-l-i-f-l-o-w-e-r and a plant-based milk, I was more than a bit skeptical.

One of my top goals for this website is to share healthier comfort food recipes. More indulgent straight up classic comfort foods will always be here, but lets admit we all need to lighten things up and eat well.
