It only takes a few minutest to blend up this easy and creamy avocado sauce!

  • In a food processor or blender, blend the avocado, Greek yogurt, buttermilk, cilantro, green onion, jalapeño, garlic, lime juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Taste and add more salt, if necessary. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little more buttermilk until desired consistency is reached.
  • If you dont have a food processor, you can use a blender. If you dont mind a chunkier sauce, you can even mash all of the ingredients together with a fork or potato masher. The sauce wont be as smooth, but still delicious!

How Can I Prevent Avocado Sauce From Turning Brown

Avocados by nature do turn brown, as will this sauce. But dont worry, it will still taste amazing. And there are some steps you can take to prevent it!

First, if youre a fan of lime, use a little extra lime juice. The more you have, the less brown it will get. You can also use lemon juice.

Second, store the sauce in a bowl with a squeeze of lime juice on top and plastic wrap pressed down directly on the surface. When avocados turn brown, its because of oxidation. Cut off the oxygen to the food and viola! No brown.

What Is Avocado Crema

How to make Avocado Dip

Our Avocado Creme recipe is a mixture of ripe avocados, fresh lime juice, Greek yogurt or sour cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and sea salt.

It’s inspired by Mexican crema recipes, which are thicker and richer than regular sour cream, similar to crème fraîche. The cool flavor of crema makes it a perfect pairing for spicy dishes.

The difference between our Avocado crema recipe and Mexican crema is in the ingredients used, but both are smooth and richly flavorful sauces. The addition of avocado and seasoning makes this Avocado cream sauce stand out!

Whats In Avocado Salsa Verde

Salsas are like sandwiches and come in all sorts of different flavor profiles. Some are spicy. Some are sweet. This green salsa gets its unique, creamy taste thanks to avocado, and it skips the typical spicy Mexican chili flavors and theres no garlic in sight.

Instead, we go ultra simple with the zip of fresh tomatillos, lime juice and cilantro with that unique green bell pepper bite. Some white onion, salt, and pepper round out this Mexican green sauce for a truly spectacular flavor.

Is Avocado Cream Sauce Healthy

Yes! The main ingredient in this sauce is avocado and avocados are packed with healthy fats, fiber, and contain less than one gram of sugar. Eating healthy fats keeps you satiated and slows the breakdown of carbohydrates, which helps to keep sugar levels in the blood stable.

I discuss this in great detail in my e-book, Redefining Wellness.

This recipe is also made with good-for-you ingredients like spices, vegan milk, and avocado oil.

  • Mix it into rice or cauliflower rice for a great side dish!

How To Make Avocado Pasta Sauce

As always, we will chat about how to make this recipe step-by-step! It’s insanely simple, so there’s not much to remark on, but I will give you all the tips and tricks I can!

  • Use a Vitamix. You know I’m fiercely loyal to my blender, however you can use a regular blender or food processor to make this recipe without any problems.
  • Make sure liquid ingredients go in first. Adding the liquid ingredients first makes blending easier.
  • Stop and stir. Depending on the size of your container, you may need to stop, scrape down the sides, and then continue blending. This is totally normal!
  • Choose the consistency. the length of time you choose to blend this avocado sauce will determine the amount of chunks of basil present. I like to leave a few because they are pretty and delicious. But if you have kids who will try to pick them all out because eating anything leafy and green is out of the question, I recommend blending until the sauce is completely smooth!
  • And that’s it! See how easy it is to make this avocado pasta sauce?!

How To Use Under Ripe Avocados

One of the other great things about this sauce is that you can use avocados that arent quite ripe yet. You know the ones where you think theyre ripe, you cut into them, and they turn out to be a little hard inside. Those are perfect here. Now, Im not saying you want to strive for those, but if you happen to get one, use it in this sauce.

    Five Minute Avocado Sauce

This avocado sauce is packed with flavor from tons of fresh herbs and garlic, creaminess from avocado and olive oil, and a pesto-like crunch from pumpkin seeds. It comes together in five minutes in your food processor, with no pre-chopping required.

You can use this sauce for almost ANYTHING.

Seriously, taking photos of this avocado sauce and just sitting there NOT eating it was one of my biggest challenges Ive ever faced.

    But I persevered.

    And then I feasted.

I mixed this sauce into a pasta salad with rotini, chopped tomatoes, and grilled chicken. It was a simple, fast, healthy dinner that had the taste of warm weather and sunshine, even during these cold and cloudy February days.

But even with these cold and cloudy February days, I have the good fortune of having a thriving herb harden, since I live in Texas and our winter has been very mild this year.

My parsley and cilantro are out of control- I have way more than I know what to do with. After giving away what I thought was a lot to my neighbors, I realized it barely made a dent!

You will need a food processor to process all the ingredients well. I like my sauce very smooth and thats why I prefer to use a food processor. But you can also use a mashed potato tool if you have one or a hand blender works well too. My food processor is this one from KitchenAid, which is perfect for me because I live in a small condo so my kitchen is compact. I dont have lots of space to put away appliances. This one is very small, but does the job very well. And the price is excellent! Great deal for what you will get. You can check it out here.

Can I Freeze This Avocado Sauce

You betcha! When avocados are pureed or mashed, they freeze well. Slices or large chunks dont freeze well, and the texture will be off.

But since this sauce is pureed to a silky-smooth consistency, it will freeze beautifully. Just put it in an airtight container and freeze for up to 6 months, defrosting completely before using.

So there you have it! The most versatile avocado sauce, PACKED with fresh herbs, for you to use the next time you grill chicken or make tacos.

Healthy Creamy Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing

Lately, my brand new secret obsession is avocados. I have them on eggs, rice bowls, bagels, toast, breakfast, lunch, dinner, you name it! Theyre in season here and I usually find them on sale, so Im trying to use them s much as I can before they go out of season. My favorite thing about avocados is their creamy texture and the fact that they are a super healthy source of fat. So I finally realized how ridiculously easy it is to make avocado dressing and how seriously delicious it is!

You know its going to be a great day when you dress your salad up with this delicious creamy avocado dressing. Not to hammer all of you vinaigrette salad dressers out there, but Im on time creamy dressing all the way. Like seriously, who can turn down creamy dressing?! I sure cant. Ever since I can remember, Ive always preferred creamy dressings. whether it was Caesar, thousand islands, or the classic ranch, I just can never get enough.

One downside to creamy dressing though is that they are loaded with calories and that sort of defeats the whole purpose of eating a salad. Even a tablespoon or two on a salad can easily pack on at least a hundred calories. Yikes! Luckily, with this healthier alternative to creamy dressing, you can have your salad and eat it too . Try this healthier dressing on your next salad and I promise your salad will thank you, and you might just come back here and thank me too!
