Prego Pasta Sauce, Traditional Italian Tomato Sauce, Three Cheese Pasta

It starts with adding veggies and ground beef. Onion, bell pepper, and garlic add so much flavor! I start a lot of my dishes with this veggie combo for good reason!

I add the vegetables in at the same time as the meat and cook everything together. It flavors the meat and saves on time as well. We usually use ground beef but you can use any combination below.

Spaghetti Meat Sauce is beefy, juicy and so satisfying. It comes together fast so it is perfect for busy weeknights, and its freezer friendly. Meat sauce has all of the comforting flavors of Spaghetti and Meatballs, or traditional Bolognese but is much easier!

Serve this meat sauce over spaghetti with a generous amount of parmesan cheese, paired with asparagus and crusty French bread. P.S. You can also use this meat sauce to make the Best Lasagna.

How To Serve Alfredo Sauce

My husband and I like fettuccini Alfredo. Since I have a gluten sensitivity, I get fettuccini pasta thats gluten-free.

You can serve this however you like, but Ive found this to be the best way to serve this easy recipe.

After cooking the pasta and putting it on the plate or in the bowl, I scoop some pasta sauce over it. Then I top it with parmesan or a blend of parmesan and Romano.

Its always good to enjoy any pasta dish with a side salad or steamed vegetable. My husband also enjoys a slice of crusty Italian bread with butter.

How To Reheat Baked Lasagna

The beauty of reheating baked lasagna is you can have it hot and ready in a handful of minutes.

Take the lasagna out of the freezer and let it thaw out. Ideally, youll let it thaw out overnight in the fridge.

Transfer it to an oven-safe dish, then cover it with foil. From there, youll let the oven do its thing at 350 degrees until the cheese is bubbling hot.

Is Prego Traditional Italian Sauce Good For You

Despite its rich, delicious flavor, this Italian sauce may also provide some health benefits. And unlike some alternatives, this particular sauce contains vital vitamins and minerals like calcium and potassium, which can help you reach your daily nutritional goals. Low in fat and cholesterol free, you may even be able to fit this Italian sauce into your diet regardless of how strict it is. Savor the flavor of this tasty sauce without worrying about your weight.

Chunky Tomato Onion And Garlic

Prego Lower Calorie Traditional Italian Sauce, 23.25 oz

The ingredients list on the Prego website says that Chunky Tomato, Onion, and Garlic contains big chunks of diced tomatoes as well as onion extract and garlic extract. If you are looking for a chunky pasta sauce, Prego has many options under its Garden Chunky line. We love a good chunky vegetable pasta sauce to add flavor and texture to the noodles. If you dont like chunks of vegetables in your pasta sauce, but instead prefer a pureed sauce, this line might not be for you, but it might disappoint those looking for chunks as well.

According to reviews on Amazon, some people find that this particular sauce is not chunky at all, but instead surprisingly thin. Another reviewer notes that it serves as a good base for a pasta sauce, but you need to add meat and vegetables to it. Again, we arent fans of being required to add some oomph to the sauce we just bought. Otherwise, we would choose to make a homemade sauce. This jars simple flavor may appeal to some, but in our opinion, its nothing special.

Definitely Not My Favourite

This product does not add up to my expectations as I intended the sauce to be more luxurious and more cheese flavour added into it. I, however, do not favour the taste of the cheese that Prego used in this product as it tasted sour to me. The herbs are not that defined, however, adding your own blend of spices normally make the whole dish better. I normally add some herbs and extra garlic to flavour up my carbonara even more. Some smoked ham and sausages work well with combating the taste too.

How To Freeze And Reheat Individual Slices

Prego Traditional vs Prego Marinara, FoodFights Reviews Which Italian Pasta Spaghetti Sauce is Best.

Freezing lasagna in individual slices is a fantastic idea!

You wont have to reheat all of the leftovers just for a single serving.

You also wont have to raid your kitchen cupboards to find a container large enough to freeze them.

I start by cutting the lasagna into the desired portion size.

This will be a little different for everyone, so consider how much lasagna youll typically eat in one sitting.

Then, I transfer all my portions into individual air-tight containers.

If you dont have enough containers, wrap the individual slices in foil, then seal them up tight in a freezer zip-top bag.

The last step is important as it will help eliminate freezer burn.

When it comes time to reheat, thaw out your slices. Then you can remove them from the foil and heat them in the microwave for a few minutes.

Alternatively, you can use the oven method by placing your slices in an oven-safe container and covering them in foil.

After a few minutes of reheating at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, it will be ready.

How Do You Thicken Spaghetti Sauce

The best way to add some bulk to a watery pasta sauce is to add about 1/8-1/4 cup of starchy pasta water. If youve already strained the pasta, you can mix together a bit of cornstarch and water to create a slurry and add it to the sauce instead.

How To Reheat Lasagna

When it does come time for chowing down, youll have two options for reheating.

First, you can give the lasagna a quick zap in the microwave. Depending upon your portion size, this can take a few minutes or so.

Second, you can reheat the lasagna in the oven. This is the method I prefer, as the microwave can sometimes result in uneven heating.

If you do go the oven route, place the lasagna in an oven-safe dish and cover it with foil. This will help prevent the top from burning.

Then, heat it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 to 10 minutes. Like the microwave, the time depends on how big you cut your slices.

How To Make Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

I know that homemade spaghetti sauce might be a hard sell for some of you loyal readers out there, because after all, isnt the point of serving spaghetti that its quick and easy.

and yes, I know that Prego does make it incredibly easy, but hear me out.

I truly developed this recipe with you all in mind. There is zero chopping involved. zero.

All you have to do is open two cans and throw in some spices. Or do like me and make a gigantic batch to freeze for later by making a triple-batch.

After you have literally just dumped everything into the pan, just let it simmer for an hour. Maybe give it a stir here and there so it doesnt burn to the bottom, but its on low heat and will probably even be fine if you dont.

You can also throw it in the slow cooker on high for 2-3 hours if you dont want to fiddle with the occasional stir.

See. I told you I had your back.

Oh, and this is so so so much cheaper than pregoand super tasty and customizable as well!

Crockpot Lasagna Recipe With Prego Traditional

Sharing is caring!

This crockpot lasagna recipe made with Prego traditional sauce is delicious and easy to make.

I love all things crockpot. I love those dump-and-go recipes and not having to worry about what Im going to fix for dinner that night. With the slow cooker, its just a matter of letting cook and enjoying it when its finished.

One of our family favorites has become slow cooker lasagna. Years ago, before we tried it, I was skeptical. I didnt think the crockpot would fully cook the noodles and didnt think it would taste as good.

Well, I was wrong. In fact, our family now prefers lasagna made in the crockpot. This is great for me because that is less time I have to spend in the kitchen!

Can I used 5 teaspoons of Italian died seasoning in lieu of the 2 teaspoons dried basil, 2 teaspoons dried parsley, 1 teaspoon dried oregano??? Or would you use less? I add this seasoning when I use a Prego jar also.
